To the female cyclist wearing rubber boots driving westbound on Brunswick st thurs afternoon. Kudos to you driving in the bike lane, however, it was not my fault the was a delivery truck blocking YOUR bike lane and if I had not been paying attention and blew my horn,YOU would have been SQUASHED between my car and the truck! You have the nerve to curse me for alerting YOU I was there, instead of getting off your bike and giving the delivery truck driver shit for blocking your lane. I suggest you learn the rules of the road and your hand signals or get back on the fucking sidewalk where you belong!

  1. Maybe all these asshole drivers bitching about cyclists will all be happy when they kill a cyclist. Whether or not the cyclist is in the wrong, the onus is always on the driver of a one tonne killing machine to make sure he drives safely and doesn’t kill pedestrians or cyclists.

  2. What the hell are YOU bitching at “Edson”??? The driver of the car (the OP) sounded their horn as they proceeded to overtake a “SLOWER MOVING” vehicle…sounds like an exerpt taken directly from the NS Driver’s Handbook. Speaking about the NS Driver’s Handbook, it is stated that slower moving vehicles shall “KEEP TO THE RIGHT” as to not impede faster moving traffic. According to the NS Driver’s Handbook the cyclist was completely in the wrong and should have slowed (yeilded) to let traffic pass, signal (hand signal) to change lanes and proceed around the parked vehicle, because bikes are of course vehicles as well!

  3. Sounds like a case of a typical Halifax arsehole cyclist thinking that they are somehow special and do not need to follow any rules… which most apparently do not.

  4. Boy do we have alot of them in this city…I witnessed no less than twice last week, cyclists (still on their bikes) pushing the crosswalk button so they could RIDE across the street in the crosswalk…holding up like 35 cars. They wonder why there is such a hate on for cyclists. They really should force bikes to have license plates and insurance (nothing too extraordinary…just some accountability, but I bet they would scream no fair, wonder how they would feel if their bikes cost thousands of dollars and got scratched or dented from a $100 piece of shit that refused to follow the rules.

  5. to Christopherare you for real? It must take soooo long for a cyclist to ride across the street, doesnt it? Much longer than someone walking. Hold up 35 cars? Are these cyclists crossing 12 lane motorways or something? seriously maybe people should just chill the fuck out instead of getting so fucking angry about taking 5-10 seconds to let someone cross the street, bike or no bike. If they had decided to get off their bike and walk across i suppose you would be much more angry that they followed the rules and took up even more of your time, right?

  6. To NickAre you really for real? It was Hollis street, by the bridge on ramp during rush hour for one. 2nd wouldn’t you be pissed if a person on a motorcycle did that…how about another car..doesn’t make sense to you eh? Bikes are considered vehicles in Nova Scotia and are expected to adhere to the Motor Vehicle Act of Nova Scotia. Walking across with their bikes would be fine…if they were walking it alongside them on the SIDEWALK…where PEDESTRIANS are supposed to find SAFETY from VEHICLES. Maybe when you understand what obeying the law means, you can come back to the big kids table and discuss. Have some facts or real input before you spew what every second idiot espouses…ohh chill out…its just a bike…oh wait, it’s not just a bike…it’s a vehicle!
