So one of the busiest areas of the city in terms of traffic doesn’t have push buttons for pedestrians. Having recently moved here I’m amazed at the complete lack of planning that goes into this city. Also, cyclists stop and dismounting would be a good idea. But hey if your biking through that death trap you’re not all there I guess. —Rotary guy

The round a bout is awesome. The rotary was mental. Put a little hustle in your step. Traffic shouldn’t grind to a halt just because someone wants to slowly saunter across a road.

Sorry you moved to this backward ass city. Cyclists are supposed to dismount and walk across crosswalks but our cyclists are just like everyone else in this city, oblivious to the rules or just don’t give a F%@# and do as they damn well please.
And I believe that cars are suppose to give us (we?) cyclists one meter distance, not expect us to ride in behind parked cars and are not permitted to take our lives into their hands because they were inconvenienced. As those are the rules as well…

Obviously the OP hasn’t seen many other roundabouts in their natural habitat around the world. I lived in the UK for a couple years and never saw a roundabout with a pedestrian crossing. Yes I’m sure it’s a little scary for grandma Mildred but the rest of us can move our ass a little faster than her.
All motorists should have to stop, dismount, and push their car across the bicycle trails.

Since you’re new here, I’ll let you in on a little secret. Most cyclists I encounter do not follow traffic rules (especially red lights and stop signs). Also keep an eye out for joggers and peds.

Random hero, every crossing on the round a bout is one way. Just look one way and cross if nothing is coming. Not that hard. Put flashing lights and you completely ruin something that actually works at getting traffic through. I grew up on an 80 km road in rural N.S, no cross walks there. You know what we did as kids to cross the road? Look both ways and put some hustle in your step. City people are too soft.

Just because someone has a differing opinion doesn’t make them a troll. I firmly believe in my comments. Not trying to be a troll, but look at every round-a-bout in every city ever, you won’t not see any flashing lights, for a reason. Reason being, it destroys all traffic flow. I have no problem with a little intelligent back and forth. Please, let’s see a rebuttal from you Random hero. Just don’t make it whiny.
