You were the oasis in the desert in which I drank from and it was wonderful until your love dried up. Now I lie dying of thirst in the savage heat and I can’t help but think, maybe you were just a mirage. —WFNVD

Well Mon Ami – there’s always Le Legion Etrangere…

What the heck is up with today’s love’s??? This is not a love – but the exact opposite!!
*love the way we sulk*
OMG….. BIRD! Please delete my previous comment. It’s without a doubt the dumbest thing I have ever posted within these forums and quite likely the low point of my Coast existence.
It didn’t hit me until after I had hit the submit button either. Go ahead, ask me….
“Would I like some EPIC with that FAIL???”
too late superjonno^^
Muahaha… you’re so far into the vortex you don’t even know you’re in the vortex any longer!
lol. Jonno …you just reminded me: I posted my ultrasound pic and put “Baby Boy so & so” on crackbook…only to have one person comment and put congrats..hope it’s a girl this time! WTF.
ha ha – that’s too funny, RC.
Hey Jonno – if you hadn’t said anything maybe folks would have thought you were just being sarcastic. 🙂
I don’t get it.
Hey RC – how about photoshopping some furry handcuffs into the ultrasound pic – you know, for artistic effect >; )
People just don’t think, RC. I was asked quite often if my twins, a girl and boy, were identical (that was after I told them one was boy and one was a girl).
KIm…I have 6 year old twin niece and nephew and still get that. Dumbasses!!
Ivan…I’m having a bad day and needed to read that comment. *mouse ears* – I don’t know what they are but I’m assuming something loveable.
PK…Jonno said it forgetting all together that there actually is a section “LTWW bitch”…that’s why he felt stupid…he was joining in the Love the way we sulk. Great…now I sound like Brendon explaining shit…I hate when Orgas-Brend does that to me!!!

Mine loves sulks – but he eats massive quantities of grass (and rolls around in the first patch of dirt he can find) and then I get to clean up regurgitated grass 2 hrs later. I wonder if he’s part cow… or maybe just suffers from an eating disorder.
Painy! Your post JUST reminded me I have to make a vet appt for the girlie. She needs another steroid shot for her lip and her weight checked. I think she’s losing too much weight 🙁
So, thanks for the post!
no dog could look as goofy or sadder than a grey

how old is your cat pk? my remaining tard is 11 and has half his teeth but he is healthy enough
Molly and Oscar both turned 5 this past September (same litter)…unfortunately, Molly is quite the little sickie: IBS, actual GAD (separation anxiety to be specific), allergies to certain kitty treats (she’ll get deathly sick) and an autoimmune disorder that causes her lips and throat glands to swell 🙁
She’ll be good as new though after her shot, but I think we’re going to have to switch her to the medical gastro high energy from the moderate energy…unfortunately, I don’t know what it’s going to do to Oscar — he’s a big bastard and likes to eat. Molly’s so petite and dainty, but you can feel a bit too much of her spine at the moment and I can wrap my hands around her rib cage with room to spare and I’d rather have Oscar a bit on the fat bastard side than Molly on the anorexic side. :-/
that makes the most sense. we had a calico named booboo, she lived to be 18. she survived being taken from her mother at 4 weeks and overcame feline leukimia. she weighed all of about 3 lbs. and finally developed a teeny little pot belly in her old age^^
PK- hope your kitty feels better. I had mine for 13 years, found him at Queen/Bathurst when I was lonely in Toronto. Last year his kidneys went and he started to go too. I was there for his last moment, holding him and crying, but it was our bargain.
Give her a scritch behind the ears from WP(paul on wheels).
That’s hard duty Wheelie. Our 15 year old tom went out much the same way. I didn’t know Rooooo back then, but it was defintiely a Roooooo day for SOBova and I. >: (
I miss my kitties…… they are in CB with the ex and my little girl. My precious little part-Maine Coon, Fozzie, still runs to the door to greet me when I go there. If I didn’t have the allergies I do and if she wasn’t so attached to her brother Floyd I’d so have her in Halitown with me. Although I would surely live with the extra Claritin expenses to be able to keep her as a roomie. Floyd a big black guy with a white neck and paws. He’s pretty low key and is actually not related to Fozzie but we got them as week old kittens from a friend in Sep 04. He belongs to the former step-son and has pretty much taken on all his characteristics… hehe.
Wheels- losing a pet like that sucks. A couple of years ago we had a little grey kitty named Sidney. She was perhaps the most affectionate cat I have ever seen. Anyone could sit down and she’d be on their chest kissing their nose. All of a sudden we noticed she was laying beside the drier (between it and the wall) more often than not, acting quite lethargic. She really wasn’t doing well (for like, 2 days….) so my wife took her to the vet. She called me from the vet to tell me they had to put Sidney down- she had feline leukemia and we hadn’t the slightest idea up to that point. She went from seemingly healthy and happy to losing her life in less than 3 days. I didn’t know I’d never see her again before she left for the vet, but I am so grateful that I spent a couple of hours on the bed with her, talking and comforting her before she died. I’d like to think I made her final hours as good as they could have been……
Well Johnno, you made Ivan cry. I hope you’re happy with yourself.^^^
That was a heartbreaking story yet lovely too, in the amount of emotion that a small creature can evoke in the human soul. Like you, I’m glad to spend the money on anti-histamines in order to share my life with a furry little diva who decides that the sight of me with my nose in a book means it’s “patting time”.
Hope you get to see Fozzie & Floyd real soon. >: )
I had the exact same situation happen to me that jonno and wheeliep had happen to them 🙁 I had this cat named Duke — he was the love of my life as far as cats are concerned. I got him when I was 12 as a rescue (he was an older kitten and no one wanted him, but I fell in love with him and his neurotic personality right away). He was black and white with a little white spot under his chin that made him look like he was pouting. He was such a little fatty and my best little buddy.
Anyway, one day he was his usual self and the next he wouldn’t move out of his basket. My mom bundled him up and took him into the vet and she told her he was in kidney failure and had to be put down and she called me from the vet’s office to let me know. It was absolutely heart breaking.
Which is why I’m very very cautious when it comes to Molly — thankfully she’s a very happy girl, despite her tummy troubles and swollen lips/glands (unless I go out without her permission — went on Tuesday night and she was PISSED OFF at me when I got home), but when I see any little sign of redness on her lip I make a vet appointment ASAP. Luckily, Oscar is healthy as a horse — we’re just careful about making sure he eats vet urinary care wet food to avoid any kidney/urinary problems.
Both better live for-fucking-ever!
I hear ya, PK – I don’t know what I’ll do when the D-man gets older… he’ll be 10 this year. Yikes. I love him and he’s really the most affectionate old soul. Always chatting at me and greeting me at the door. The car hair drives me nutso, but it’s worth it for the company and loves. He’s the man in my life, lasted longer than any relationship, even my marriage!
Anyway, I had a kitty growing up, we called him Target, kind of confiscated him from the family down the road who had dozens of cats. he was a real sook too, and knew who to take to – my dad. Dad “hated” cats but that kittle guy was just so loveable. Anyway, when he turned 8, he got really sick too and he had to be put down. Broke our hearts and my mom’s especially, she cried for days…he was like another child… roooo…
when dougal died, it was very sudden. he lay in state in a box for a day. then we dug a whole in the garden and buried him. it was very cathartic, tho my yard is turning into a pet semetary. i still hear him sometimes and think he is rubbing on my leg. he was a big sucky momma’s boy and i will always miss him
Last night I came home and Molly RAN out of my room and SLID down the floor and smacked into my piano in her attempt to greet me at the door. Then Oscar, who doesn’t really have much loyalty to anyone (but is a sweet charmer to everyone) RAN to the door singing me a song! Apparently Molly had been crying before I got home — I was a little late because I missed my transfer. They must’ve both been concerned because when I took my shoes off and collapsed onto the couch and they both came over and molly sat on my chest and started purring and chirping and pawing my face and oscar sat behind me on the back of the couch being all oscar-like.
That’s the BEST.
We did the same thing with Dukey, PG, except we put him in his basket for the day until everyone got home from work and we could bury him. I spent most of the day holding his paw and crying *sniff* 🙁
My best friend was never a cat person.. but she’s recently adopted a couple of kitties and it’s the funniest thing to see her finally understand just how wonderful they are. And she goes on and on to me about what the kitties did and how much her kids love them and how great they are… and I just laugh to myself. You can’t miss what you’ve never had, but man you appreciate them when you have them!!
One of Hubert’s nicknames was “The Coon” because at night with his tiny pointy head and big butt he looked like a raccoon scuttling away in the darkness. Walking past Birch Cove Park on the day after we had him put to sleep I saw a raccoon that had been killed by a car the night before. Sobbed all the way to the Sportsplex terminal.
sigh
rooooooo

Hey Painey – you psyched for the HKC this weekend. Keep those snooty “Hyacinths” in line. Say hi to Rosie if you see her.

the difference between the norfolk and the norwich terrier…the norwich’s ears are erect, that’s it
Bird, I don’t think jonno should be too upset — he’s a pretty neat guy, and I’m sure we can all forgive his lapse in posting-related judgement!
No worries bird. After I submitted it my comment to you was more or less to draw attention to my blunder, which I figured everyone would get a kick out of.
By the way everyone… great hijacking work on this poor love! Sorry WFNVD…..
I need hugs, guys, the girlie’s back from the vet and she has a heart murmur 🙁 She’s also lost a whole pound in a month which the vet said is significant and she has to get blood work because they think she may either have a thyroid condition or diabetes 🙁
*sniff*
aaah sweetie…many hugs http://mepluslife.files.wordpress.com/2009…
Awwwwwww! Thanks, PG. I’m going to go give my girly a big hug and some extra cuddles this afternoon!
