Certain Kijiji folks:
Stop advertising the rent as $xxx per WEEK. Stop it, it’s misleading, irritating, fucks up the searching system, and nobody else does it. It’s akin to grocery stores advertising prices for vegetables in non-metric measurements in order to have it appear cheaper. Quit it!

Ugg I do not miss looking for an apartment :(!! I especially love the people that don’t think to clean up places before taking pics of it..like sink full of dishes, dirty clothes everywhere, grimy and hairy bathrooms, moldy toilet, animal fur everywhere etc etc.
actually OP if it’s a ROOM than they do rent them buy the week; lot’s of times people are looking for something short-term and don’t want to make a commitment (or they’re just looking for someplace to smoke crack) 🙂
weekly or monthly, it works out about the same. just multiply 4.2, and you get the months total.

OP here. Life Sucks, the issue is that with the Kijiji search tool I’ll enter my maximum monthly budget (since Kijiji uses per-month prices to index the ads) and get a bunch of wieners that entered their weekly rent
just look for ads anywhere with a monthly rate, :as in 600 bucks, just look, don’t add in figures. it’s a whole lot easier than putting 600 for rent, 300 for food,200 for utilities. just look and don’t put shit in to search. usually, if the price for rent per month isn’t shown, it means it’s too much for you to afford.
Maybe don’t look in the short-term rentals?
I hear ya OP…I sent several complaints to Kijiji and reported hundreds of ads in that category. Duplicate ads, wanteds not listed in wanted category…etc etc …i report them all …then i log into kijiji with gf account and report the same ones again. If my time is going to be needlessly wasted anyway i am going to spend it by wasting their time right back. The worst for me was searching for a HOUSE to rent and seeing every manor of dwelling type come up like trailers, mini home, duplex etc etc….these things are not HOUSES!!!…they do act on things if you report them i have seen the evidence!
At least your not looking for a job on Kijiji, you’d go nuts.
