Oh my fucking gawd. How is it that winter manages to sneak up on so many of you? So much so that the snow must freeze what’s left of your brain cells as you get behind the wheel.

1. CLEAN THE SNOW OFF YOUR FUCKING CAR!!! Switching on your wipers and rolling down your driver’s side window is NOT ENOUGH!! a) The car you aren’t able to see could be the one you’re about to hit or about to hit you. And chances are it will contain someone’s loved one. So smarten the fuck up!! b)The snow on your roof can blow off and impair someone else’s vision who could then plow into you. You may be in the right but small consolation if you’re also in the hospital. And the insurance company won’t offer much sympathy. c) The snow covering your headlights and taillights will not allow other drivers to know what you’re about to do. Granted you’re probably too oblivious to use your indicators but brake signals are important to see.

2. SLOW THE FUCK DOWN!!! It’s icy. It’s slippery. It’s surprisingly treacherous. If getting to the mall, work, pub 30 seconds earlier is that important, then leave 30 seconds earlier ya dumb fuck. My safety shouldn’t be jeopardized just because you have no time management skills or consideration for other people’s lives.

3. LEAVE ENOUGH ROOM!!! Corollary to #2, stopping distances increase exponentially during snowy events. Be aware of this when you slice in front of people when changing lanes (probably without signalling but then we wouldn’t be able to see it anyway). Merging on hills can be especially treacherous so give yourself, and others, some MUCH NEEDED SPACE!!! —How Difficult Is It???

  1. I was coming home the other night and there was a car at the end of my street trying to turn onto Lacewood, the woman had to OPEN HER DOOR!! to look to see if there were cars coming.

All of her windows were frosted over with at thick layer of frost, except for her winshield where she used her wash to “melt” it away.

I had to wait for her to close her door before I could turn onto my street because she was well in the middle of the dang road.

Common Sense people. I’ve seen lazy drivers but this woman stole the show!

  2. Slow down? Shit, I saw this old bag all up in the stearing wheel riding the break down lacewood. THEN she gets in the lane to turn onto the highway, slams on her breaks and waits there for someone to let her in.

Some people should just not be driving.

SERIOUSLY she rode her break all the way down lacewood!

  3. I agree…I hate when people don’t clean their car off…and think they’re the only driver on the road.

  4. I can’t stand when people leave giant mountains of snow (or rather the sheets of crusty ice-snow we tend to get here) on the top of their cars. It’s incredibly dangerous when that shit rockets off and hits the person behind them.

  5. do you know how many people don’t read here o.p.? there are thousands who won’t get to se your amazing advice, why is that? oh yeah, it has to do with not giving a fuck about what you think or write. the same as this comment, no one cares about what is written down in here. we just come here to bug the fuck out of each other, sort of like a club or some shit, right guys.

  6. Aww man, my comment was erased, and now I’m too lazy to type it out again! And now I’m late for the pub so don’t have time to properly clean my car off. Ohh well, away I go anyway.

  7. “… riding the break ” I swear PK that is one of my biggest pet peeves ever. I just do not get it. How, HOW do you do that? I suspect that person is weak in real life, i.e unable to control a vehicle and their life by extension. It’s just ridiculous to me. Imagine if those ppl had to drive standard lol. Extreme fail the granny edition. Ever watch Canada’s worst driver? I have a few busted blood vessels from watching that show.

  8. People in Halifax should live up north for a couple of months during the winter time and see how hard it is to remove ice off the windshield in -40C weather every morning (if the car starts, that is). It would help people realize how easy we have it down here in terms of ice removal. Don’t be lazy, drivers…it is your and everyone else’s lives at risk.
