I don’t care who you are, if an immediate family member dies, you tell other immediate family members IN PERSON.
If in person isn’t possible because of distance, you call.
If you can’t call for some reason, you text a “please call me asap”.
If that’s not possible, you email a “please call me asap”.
You DON’T let someone find out a close family member died by posting it on fucking Facebook, you attention-seeking FUCKWAD. —Would’ve Preferred Not to See the News on My FB Feed

  1. Just when you think you’ve heard the lowest level to which a human can sink….you see a post like this one & realise, wow ! a new low ! !

  2. Yeah, More, the excuse was “I was soooooo busy with calling people, and all the running around”… um, all due respect, immediate family should be #1 on the list, no?

  3. I actually saw a post on one of those FB link sites where they show funny and awful status updates the other day – in this one post a girl’s status about someone else’s father dying, and the poor person hadn’t heard yet, and so got the news on their FB.

I thought “That’s gotta be fake!”. Until today. People suck.

  4. Unfortunately in this day of digital communications, this will occur more often and become the norm. Too many people out there are FBing, twittering, etc about every facet of their lives whether good or bad. They have no concept that certain things are private or should be shared only in person, if at all possible. The new clothesline for dirty laundry is the various incarnations of the web.

  5. facebook is now more popular than any other media around, and that includes television and radio. i find you can get more info there sometimes than say the horrid.
and they are allowing comments again, i see. what a fucked up world we live in to. when you get info from an online source and not the family, or even a close friend. such is technology.

  6. Is the obituary also posted on Facebook? That would save money from having to put it in the local paper.
