A right shoulder check when making a right turn is actually really hard to do. You’ve got to turn yourself almost around backwards to see what’s coming at you from that right hand curb.
That being said, driving isn’t supposed to be easy. If you can’t do shoulder checks, you might want to rethink your license.

If you’re driving a van or truck and turning right, it’s difficult to see people behind you walking toward the crosswalk. For what that’s worth.
Sigh.. ok wheelie. I’ll spell it out for you. The DRIVER in question is making a right hand turn… Hence the phrase “Turn your damned eyes before you turn right”

Get the 360 mirrors drivers, to check for pedestrians coming from your far right. Op has a good point.
