There was a time and place that I used to remember when a chicken wing was not considered a delicacy. What is up with the reviews that are being given for what passes as food in downtown today? I do not want to eat a peanut butter hamburger, a damn donair, or 35 different chicken wing sauces. Smarten up Halifax, can’t be a big player when you are still operating a lemonade stand. —Need a Good Meal

Don’t be knocking the peanut butter burger. It’s a fucking amazing culinary masterpiece.
Ray, is that you?
FYI – Wing have never been considered a delicacy.
This on the other hand….

News flash; you’re not going to get haute cuisine at a tavern or bar. So you’ll just have to do with a clubhouse while you listen to Joe Murphy.
I’m going out for one of those peanut butter burgers with my darling bro tomorrow. Hope to fuck the whole thing doesn’t stick to the roof of my mouth.
I’m considering getting one just to spite the OP.
peanut butter and bacon sammiches are right some tasty
Wow, Painey.
Sounds like a *delicacy*!
this one has honey and bananas, now that’s going too far^^ http://cdn.goodbite.com/sites/default/file…
um, gordon ramsay has poutine and a grilled cheese on his new montreal bbq place’s menu… making regular food deliciously is every bit as good as using rare delicacy dishes to impress.
Aw – now I’m hungry. Can I get anyone anything while I’m out?

and yes, I realize it’s more of a relaunch… but still, it’s his name on the front door.
pretentious food pisses me off http://adrenalinesshadow.files.wordpress.c…
Pick me up a rocket scientist, will you Snubiz 😉
BTW – seen the dickhead with the kitten, lately?
So, let me get this straight.
You want to pay a shitload of money for food that doesn’t taste nearly as good as the pub cuisine our fine city excels at making? This is Halifax. Not Manhattan. Go find a different city to be a pretentious food snob in.
They guy was back (or more likely – still there) the next AM and the kitten was nowhere to be seen. I don’t even want to know… It was probably carried off by one of those mega rats that come out at night on SGR! : (
This is Halifax. OP obviously has no clue as to the multitude of eating establishments in this city. From street-meat to the absolute snootiest of fine dining and every style, ingredient, taste and ethnic cuisine in between. There is not too damn much this city doesn’t have as far as variety of options to eat go. And who listens to food critics anyway? With something like food and all the endless possibilities it has, how can one person honestly give an objective review of a restaurant? I never listen to food critics (Unless they are discussing cleanliness) Everybody’s tastes are different. Reserve your own judgement. You may not like a PB burger or 30 different types of chicken wings and there are some people who don’t like a $105 kobe beef striploin or duck confit. It’s all according to taste. If you want it, chances are, it’s out there in HRM. Take a walk around town. (Fuck! Now I sound like an article from the NS Tourism Guide ffs!)
i don’t like movie critics either clint, same reason
is it pretentious looking food?
or pretentious as in shark fin soup , pigs trotters stuffed with chicken mousse, side of steamed veg, and a chocolate souffle for dessert?
i was a chef for a long time zedman, i think maybe both. i had to suffer through a decade of nouvelle cuisine http://images.dpchallenge.com/images_chall…
PASS.
OP, you just described the breakfast of HRM’s fat, obese fucks! Congrats.
nouvelle cuisine… *shudder*
sorry to bring back those painful memories.
The peanut butter burgers are really good, you should try:) Ps- Bubba Rays has REALLY good wings 🙂
