Dear City Council: Resolve the fucking transit strike already! I couldn’t really care less whether the resolution is on your terms or not. I am a university student, I do not have easy access to carpooling, and cannot afford a $10 cab fare twice a week. I deliberately abstain from voting in elections (municipal and otherwise) because I think that your so-called “democracy” is a joke. If you ever want a hope in hell of convincing me that council isn’t filled with a bunch of reactionary fucknuts who aren’t worth the air that they breathe let alone the ability to supposedly “represent” my interests, you will get the buses running again PRONTO! —Never Mind the Bollocks

  1. O.B. did you know all Politicians love you.
No matter how often they fuck up…. they never have to worry your vote could be one of those that kick them out.

FYI kiddies…the fewer people that vote , the easier it is to win !

  2. why would they listen to you OP… you dont exist…. you are nothing…. You choose to live outside society by not voting…. therefore you dont matter. sorry…. you cant have it both ways. either you participate in society or you have to put up with the crap that results with no voice.

As a voter, a homeowner, and a taxpayer…….. I want council to neuter this out of control union and take back some fiscal responsibility. yes i know that the bus management is overstaffed, overpaid and incompetent…. but we have to deal with one thing at a time and kicking those bell expressvue watching douchebags off their high horse and giving them a dose of reality is more important than making the bus available for one snotty anarchist student. get bent!

  3. You do not vote, then you really do not have much right to rant. May as well go bleat in the desert for all those of us who do vote care. Yes, there are many problems with the system as it stands now, but not voting certainly is not helping to make things better. In fact, as some have noted by not voting you make it even easier for the same old thing to continue along. Get in there and help make a difference, then you can truly use your voice.

  4. Yup. What they said.
“If you don’t put your two cents in, how you gonna get change?”
There was a time when men could not vote unless they owned property. You prove nothing by not voting but your own petulance.

  5. I disagree with you guys.

OP’s vote has nothing to do with his right to an opinion. They pay taxes. That’s like saying if you didn’t vote for the guy who won you can’t have an opinion.

You’re telling me that one political party thinks the bus strike DOESN’T in fact suck balls? I wouldn’t vote for any party that would give these skeezebags what they want. I think the city is doing the right thing standing up to SETs for once.

So I kind of disagree with this bitch in hindsight, but this isn’t a “you should have voted” moment. This isn’t some political policy that is being passed, this is a labour dispute that is between the city and the union, the taxpayers/voters are out of the loop. Minors who can’t vote ride the bus too, can they have an opinion?

    Just askin

    I vote, for the record.

  6. “I couldn’t really care less whether the resolution is on your terms or not. I am a university student”

If you paid property taxes you might care.
