If you’re going to take the bus, figure out what bus you’re taking BEFOREHAND. I am so sick of people stopping the bus just to ask “do you go this way…” There are so many ways you could find this out without inconviencing, not only a bus load of people, but also all the cars BEHIND that bus. Call metro transit, go online, pick up a route map. Do something other than slow the rest of us down because you’re too stupid or lazy to find something out yourself.

Why couldn’t you offer to help the person yourself since you know so much?
Who cares about the cars behind the bus, especially when you are a bus passengers who is in front of all those cars occupied by one person. Its a common practice for transit operators to help passengers reach their destination when unsure of connections etc. OP would fit right in with some of the rude and no-so-helpful drivers transit has hired over the past couple of years.
Why couldn’t the person help themselves instead of being a self-centered Prick by delaying everyone? Likely that person is too fucking stupid and lazy to do anything for themselves. Me Me Me Me, that is all most people seem to think about.
Why can’t people just talk to each other? MEAN MEAN MEAN is what you must have meant, Scott.
Not everyone taking the bus, such as tourists, has access to a route map or the internet. And the first time you grab a bus, especially in an unfamilar city, you want to double check that you are getting on the correct bus. It’s 20 seconds of your life, relax.
Good point on some people not having the access, old blue-haired ladies for example. But it wouldn’t hurt some people, university students for example and most fuck-wads with cell phones that have iNet access, to take 20 seconds and look up the info., instead of screwing over the people on the bus by making them wait. Mean Mean Mean that is all most people seem to be.
Scott – Lets say your bus is scheduled to arrive at your stop at 6:15pm and it gets there at 6:16 or 6:17pm instead because the driver was courteous enough to answer a few questions on how to get to destinations. I don’t think the 2 minutes is killing anybody. Every transit system deals with the same issue and you can’t tell the driver to slam the door in people’s faces because they didn’t read a route map. It all comes down to public relations with those who contribute to the transit system’s revenue.
So it is all right to make people wait because one is not prepared. Cool I did not know that. I will exercise my new found right to waste other peoples time regardless the circumstances. This should set society back by a few minutes : ) Thanks I was looking for a way to buy a few more minutes, now I can just steal them from others.
I find it interesting there are a whole bunch of LTWWB threads talking about ignorant drivers who do nothing about the noise coming out of various headphone sets annoying everybody on the bus. But, here is something new… complaining when the bus driver actually contributes to the riding experience (providing confirmation, transfer info, etc) and I’ll bet it’s even part of their job. Can’t please everybody, I guess.
This is not about the Bus Driver, nice try for an interesting spin on things though. This is about some of the reTards that ride the bus. The people that if they did drive would sit a few minutes at a green light, because they seem to think it is ok to waste other peoples time. The people that wait until their entire grocery order is rung in before they even think about getting their payment ready. The people that stop where ever-the-fuck they please to have a personal conversation, blocking a small aisle, roadway or somewhere to narrow to squeeze by. The people that show up late consistently and seem to be as disruptive as possible insisting that everything be repeated for their benefit. No, this is not about the Bus Driver at all; it is about the people that are so self-centered it seems they think no one exists or they are completely brain dead or no one else matters. I do not know what their fucking problem is but they are malfunctioning. It has nothing to do with the Bus Driver it is about the ignorant people you have to tolerate from day to day.
As the poster of this bitch, I have to say Scott is completely right. I am complaining about those people who DO live in Halifax, who know perfectly well how to get this information, but just don’t care to do it. And I’m not just talking about one person, I’m talking about 5 on a 15 minute bus ride. When the bus is already late, the light ahead just turned green and you’re think “go, go, bus, go!” and this IDIOT steps onto the first step to say “Do you go up Mumford?” and the bus driver says, “No, the #1 is right behind me” and this fool says “I know, I just wanted to know if you went there.” Because they are trying to save themselves two extra minutes without any thought to the 2 minutes they are slowing the rest of us down. You people talk your all saints who never have hateful thoughts and help every poor soul on the streets. Maybe you should stand next to every bus stop to help those idiots. That way, they find out where the bus goes, I’m done want to kill them and you feel wonderful about yourself.
No question there are a lot of numpties out there that could and should look up the schedule. Scott’s right in bitching about the “me” generation’s attitude of entitlement, which is as pervasive as it is annoying. It’s just that those of you on the bus who are in a big hurry to get where you are going, might be considered just as self-important or entitled as the people you bitch about if you are getting all in a huff everytime someone is in your way or slowing you down. It’s natural to get a little pissed off, especially if you are in a rush, but that reaction should not manifest itself as rudeness (not that anyone here is necessarily guilty of that) since there are legitamate reasons for someone to ask the bus driver for help and you can’t possibly know those reasons at a glance.
If that person getting on to ask where the bus was going, was instead 3 more people just getting on the bus, it would take just as much of your precious time, and you can’t really bitch about people taking up your time to get on the bus. So simmer down and realize that the person asking questions might be even later than you are, and is just hoping that a bus will come soon that can take them closer to work.
Miles you should be a Minister, a religious figure of some sort, you know with all that preaching you do. This Bitch is not talking about the legitimate reasons for asking for help. It is referring to those who are too lazy to obtain the information by their own because it may take a few minutes of their precious time. They would rather take a few minutes of everyones time because that way, other then the effort it takes to ask a question, they do not have to put forth any effort or waste their time. No one mentioned being in a hurry.By your statement every one that Bitches here thinks they are of high self-importance and has a huge sense of entitlement just by Bitching about something. We should have this site shut down.
It wasn’t meant to be a sermon Scott. I agreed with you and the OP that there are people out there that are annoying because they are happy to waste others time. I was also just pointing out that it is not worth getting bent out of shape about since you don’t know which of the direction-askers are the knobs or the innocents. If one automatically assumes that the people asking directions are the bad guys, that makes him/her just as much of a self-centered bad guy too because it reflects that they are not prone to considering the other person’s perspective. I didn’t mean to offend or attack you personally Scott, since I don’t know how you would react. However based on some of your comments, I could make an educated guess. Judge not lest ye too be judged. Here endeth the sermon.
I am Sorry Miles. Thanks
amazing bitch.curious, is life that rushed now that people are that bitchy over maybe a 10 second converation? I live here and take the bus many times a week. However, for the first time ever, i had to venture to Bayers Lake area. I had no clue where the fuck i was. The bus i needed to take was there at the Lacewood Terminal. However, there wasnt just one of the route, there was a second one. If i had boarded the other bus with out asking, i would have been downtown. So if i held the bus up for a grand total of 20 seconds, that is too bad. Life isnt that hurried that 20 seconds isnt going to kill anyone. It’s bitches like this that worry me about society. Is everyone so self absorbed that someone asking for directions is that INCONVIENIENT? Is that extra 20 seconds that frustratating that you need to take 2 minutes to type out a complaint? Is life that bad that someone is that bothered by someone that potentially getting help because they could be an out of towner that is lost? Funny, I got in shit here because I said that Toronto is no different than here. People there are just as bitchy as they are here. I was told that I was wrong. This is proof that assholes exist in all provinces. Lighten the fuck up and ease up sweating someone that is taking up a grand total of 20 seconds of your time.
Well Said, Homie… I 100% agree with everything you said…And Miles, This is what I’m talking about, shit just rolls right off your back!! “I didn’t mean to offend or attack you personally Scott, since I don’t know how you would react. However based on some of your comments, I could make an educated guess. Judge not lest ye too be judged. Here endeth the sermon.”LoL
