I returned bottles and cans to a recycling company in my community. Watched a man enter the building and kindly ask, “Do you return car batteries?” And the woman put the hand out to the guy’s face and said “Not here. Spryfield.” Then the man left quietly. I waited patiently for them to count my recyclables. The woman was so rude and I could not believe how she talks to the customers before me. She is like an overgrown ogre. My car was parked outside the building, as I approached my car when leaving the grumpy owner was mumbling under his breath about where I was parked, he then threw a pylon at my car and said “You can’t park here!” And then almost smashed into my vehicle with the forklift. I left as an unsatisified customer very pissed off. I spread the news about the unprofessionalism of the ogres. go to the one in the south end (mitchell st), they’re at risk youth working there so support where you can. they’re not in it for the money but for lessons in customer service, etc. they teach the kids.

I go trade them in for wine bottles …when you make yer own wine, you need lots of bottles, bottles to let it age ( I have some that were bottled over a year ago) bottles to give it away to family & friends . The bottle exchange charges you 15 cents a bottle for a wine bottle (or at least the one out here does) so F’ the bums I don’t know …this bum believes in taking care of himself & my family First & Foremost.
Plus I don’t know who said it, but I know for sure it really works, “Keep an eye on the pennies & the dollars will take care of themselves”

On topic – I wasn’t overly impressed with the Bayer’s Lake place, but that was over a year ago. The place on Sackville Dr. is very good, but by the time I bag and load everything into the car, drive over and unload…what I get isn’t worth the bother, so I put it all out with the other recyclables. It’s generally gone before the truck gets here.

My guess is the depot on MacKintosh St near the container terminal because I’ve heard of this happening to other people there…I’m surprised people like that are hired to deal with customers.

I use a can crusher. I can fit a dozen bags of cans into 1 bag. Saves me alot of space.
