Why do some people ask a question and then proceed to cut me off when I am trying to give them the information they require? Don’t ask a question when I’m answering your question. Don’t attempt to answer the question as I’m giving you the details. In fact, just let me answer the damn question so I can stop talking to you as quickly as possible. —Frustrated

  1. Because, as you stated in your b!tch, you are TRYING to give the answer ….. most of us need more concrete answers than just “trying” ….. perhaps stick to the point of the question and there will be no further need for us to cut you off.

  2. When someone does this to me, i eject myself instantly from the conversation. I either leave or tune out and think about shoes until they leave.

  3. I’m a big interrupter. In fact, I piss people off daily because of this. You wanna be heard, you gotta speak quickly and loudly around me… and for the love of God say what you’re saying with the fewest words possible. So many people out there love talking for the sake of hearing their own voice. Conversations are 2-way… maybe your friends are sick of listening to your long-winded monotone diatribes.

  4. I was just telling my daughter that last night, she is five.

“One question at a time my dear, I have all night.”

She fell asleep after long answer # 3.

  5. SO annoying… If you could finish my sentences, then you wouldn’t have needed to ask so SHUT UP and listen or I’m walking away…

  6. So you ask someone a question and then don’t let them finish answering? Interrupting people is not cool, especially when you asked them a freakin question thus inviting them to respond. When it must be done there are polite ways to do it. Everyone does it but people who do it constantly make me want to choke them, I find it really disrespectful.

  7. Sometimes, though, some people just go on and on and on and spend 10 minutes explaining something that could’ve been explained in 10 seconds.

    That’s equally annnnnnnnnoying.

    So fuck you, Thomas!

    😀

  8. Agreed Kitty, I’ll cut someone like that off, or interject or basically let them know that “hey, I get it already” but I exercise a little bit of common courtesy and don’t just start talking right over them.

It’s just always been one of my pet peeves because I’ve worked on the phone for years. People who ask you a question and then don’t let you answer, can fucking die.

  9. I’ll never understand why people do this? If you don’t get the whole answer or the context for that matter, you’re just going to ask for clarification later. On the other hand if I ask where the Johnson file went to, I don’t need a one thousand word treatise.

  10. ask me no fucking questions, and i’ tell you no lies, or answers, seems my earlier comment about that went missing, hmmmmm.
