Don’t you just hate it when you’re walking down the side walk, you pass garbage and a fucking trash bin is like a few steps away from where it’s at!

That pisses me off some times. Like Halifax do you really think that leaving trash around is going to help us stop global warming and climate change?

I mean really, if you have trash wait till you pass a bin, and put it in the bin. Nothing’s worse than a lazy person dropping trash on the street. —Tree Hugg’in’ Dirt Worshiper

  1. I don’t like discarded trash either, but it doesn’t cause global warming.

I hope you picked it up.

  2. HRM in a whole is turning into a free range region for trash. I don’t know why people are so lazy that they can’t put things in the garbage bin. Is it too heavy for them to carry? Do they feel it makes them look back to put garbage in the bin? Does it hurt their hands? Must smokers always throw their butts on the ground instead of in the ashtray bin things?

  3. Something like 450 bags of garbage was picked up off McNab’s island this past weekend–a remote, virtually no traffic area. I can’t imagine how many bags worth of garbage are dropped heedlessly around metro.

  4. I’d like to see a few more garbage bins around town. I end up carrying my crap for blocks before I find one. Maybe it would encourage more people to dispose of their trash properly.

  5. melectric, I’ve been wondering the same thing. Frig, people need to get out of their protective Halifax bubble, if they think littering (or any of the other “Only in Halifax” whines) is just a Halifax problem.

  6. Tree Hugging Dirt Worshipers are great as long as they know what they’re talking about, and in my experience the vast majority of them do not. Trash doesn’t cause global warming, go educate yourself.

  7. I think it’s more the case of trying to hold Halifax up to a higher standard than the opinion that this is unique to here.

They WANT people to believe this city doesn’t have the problems of other crappy cities….
sadly, this isn’t the case in most aspects.
