Sick and tired of people coming together very quickly and easily to raise funds, have vigils, and memorial services for something that really has no effect on you personally. Why can’t people get this upset about people IN HALIFAX losing their homes because some stupid car dealership wants to expand their fucking parking lot?? why cant people come together to support their brothers and sisters because someone wants to put a landfill in the middle of a beautiful town which will end up destroying the ecosystem?! This is the real world folks. If you want to show some love to strangers, show it to those who are literally in your back yard not 3,100km away…. —love all, not just those social media says needs it

  1. Oh you’re mad about the Orlando thing.. why didn’t you say so.. here’s a suggestion, why don’t you stop worrying about it? Let people come together and give a fuck about something that they care about
If it doesn’t apply to you get on with your own shit and focus on yourself

  2. Tell you what, Sport. You help whomever you want to help and STFU about other people making their choices.
    Sending you prayers >; )

  3. No one has lost their homes; they sold them off. Get with the program.

The is no new landfill opening up in any town in Nova Scotia. Get with the program.

  4. These homes were not lost. They were in plain sight. They were eyesores. They were purchased from the owners. I haven’t seen anything condemning these owners because they sold their property. Speaking about getting upset about something that has no effect on you personally ……… yeah, that’s right, nothing to do with you.

  5. It’s very simple: whoever has the most money wins. No amount of kvetching & crying will change that. Picket signs are not usable currency.

  6. This has very little to do with people coming together for fund raising or vigils. It’s a matter of city planning – something that should be well planned and intentional. Should a car lot be allowed to expand in that part of town or is it an eyesore? It depends on your point of view. But really, if it’s important to you then try to influence decisions made by city council. Call you councillor. Get your friends to call. Make your voice heard by someone who matters.

  7. I think if a bunch of us got together and had a vigil, Honda would never of purchased the homes and expanded. Screw all the people that died, vigils aren’t for the dead…

  8. The queer community came together to mourn extended members of their community and all you can do is complain. Violence against our LGBTA friends in other cities isn’t easily passed over because we are all affected by this type of hatred daily and to expect us to do so is disgusting and clearly demonstrates just how little you care for us. Showing love and support for our family in another country doesn’t mean we aren’t showing support for other causes at home, and assuming so makes you a fucking dick.

  9. All that shit is just something to make people who don’t really care about the cause de jour feel like they accomplished something on social media. Every twat that goes to shit like this just wants to post pics of how much they “care” on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. I can feel bad about stuff in privateand, it’s still just as legitimate.

  10. And all those bitching about the dealership have probably never set foot in it or ever planned on doing so. The owners received what is most likely a good price on their properties and if there are any renters, more than enough time to find new accommodations.
