Why the fuck can’t I find a place in Halifax who will do a straight razor shave? Seriously, there is a demand for it however small that demographic may be…

I gave that a whirl once, never again, the blade was too dull and it scared the supreme shit out of me. I’ll stick to the Gillette Fusion.
Theres an italian place in bedford at the mall that does it i think. The problem isnt that barber shops wont shave you, its that barber shops have a very hard time getting the special chairs/headrests.
That Bedford joint is the place I went to a few years ago.
Save yourself the trouble and shave yourself.
I hear the Miles, loud and clear, I’ll never expose my throat to anyone wielding that sort of dull implement ever again.
DAMMIT I meant that not the. Damn ghetto puppets are still on my mind.
There’s Spiros Hair Cuts in the Harbourside Mall. Give them a call, or maybe someone here knows if they do straight razor. I know they’re a barber shop and it lookd pretty traditional when I walked by it.
I know a place. It’s located above this crappy little pastry shop. The guy is kinda nuts, though.
Sorry. Blame me being female and into musicals. 😛
There’s a place on Queen st by Alexandra’s. Went there once while I was living in Fenwick tower… Seemed decent enough.
Try Paul Stulac (sp?) Cigar shop in Bishop’s Landing, they used to do them there, I’m not sure if they still do though.
I’ve asked many times. Nobody does it because of AIDS. Seriously, thats what they tell me when I ask.
jamesk is right. Paul Stulac’s place, Smoke on the Water, has them. The prices are fair and the guy does a great job. Plus you can enjoy a fine cigar and relax in the lounge while you’re there. I used to work for Paul way back when and his place is amazing. You’ll feel like a king while you’re there.
Smoke on the water…that’s it (forgot the name). He has a lounge??? Crap I’m going for a shave right now!
Try Phat’s on Windsor St, just around the corner from the Needs on Chebucto.
It’s a law that we can’t do them.. Mainly because of universal procautions (meaning every bodyly fluid has come in contact with AIDS virus) also when they were doing them the straight razors were not being cleaned correctly.
I’m not sure I’d trust the funny little guy on Windsor with a blade in his hand. He has enough trouble with a clipper, as he spends more time telling the same jokes over and over and over than paying attention to what he’s doing 🙂
“Best lousy straight razor in town” might not be such a great tagline.
“Every day a good day to get your throat cut”
Damone’s on Agricola across from the Oland’s brewery specializes in ole’ timey man-hair maintenance.
