Seriously, shut up about your diet. Yes, you are overweight and should be making conscious food and lifestyle choices, but it’s been 2 years and it’s all you talk about. Ever. I would love to sit and enjoy my meal without hearing you whine about how hungry you are, how many calories you have/have not ingested today, how proud you are for not eating that one cookie last night, or my favourite – when you point out the nutritional evils that are in MY meal. Thanks. I’m a former anorexic and you have no idea how frustrating and damaging it is for me to have you criticize my meal choices (and everyone else’s). Not everyone needs to be on a diet, thank you very much – just because you’re on one doesn’t give you the right to loudly state your vast expertise on ‘healthy eating’. 300 calorie meals for everyone according to you. I call bullshit – you are growing increasingly cranky, and I’ve heard you snap at clients and coworkers, suggesting that your perpetual state of semi-starvation is robbing your brain of essential brain-function nutrients. Your food and body image preoccupation screams eating disorder but this will never cross your mind because I think you crave the attention that dieting brings. Yes, overweight people can have eating disorders too. Notice that I leave the room when you start talking about your latest food restriction, or when other people give you compliments on how strong willed you are. Sorry, but I’m not going to be part of the enabling process. Your endless diet prattle has gotten a handful of coworkers to jump on the bandwagon – even those who don’t need to lose weight. At least 10 times a day I hear you talking to clients and coworkers about food, weight, and diets – most of it falling far short of the healthy eating and lifestyle benchmark. I HATE it when people on ‘diets’ criticize other peoples’ eating choices. Fuck I hate it when people criticize MY eating choices just because I’m diabetic and they are diabetes experts because their mother or aunt or whomever has type two diabetes and is on pills and OMG THEY CAN’T EAT A CHOCOLATE BAR SO WHY AM I? Never mind the fact that a) type one has a completely different physiology that tends to have more lows and b) I’m on insulin, dipshits. If I want something carby, I just inject some novorapid. I mean, when did my health come up for public debate? It’s like those dumbasses who feel they have some god given right to touch preggo bellies. I don’t care if I’m pregnant or not — keep your hands off of me unless invited. Maaan if I ever get knocked up there’s going to be some awkward situations for those who try to touch my gut.
In any event mind your own effing business, asshats, and stfu about my eating choices. Just because I’m fat and just because I have a busted pancreas, doesn’t mean my diet, health and weight are fair game for discussion (I actually had a co worker ask me HOW overweight I actually was a couple months ago and I was like “um, I’m not as fat as your lip’s gonna be once I punch you in the face.”)
Biggest pet peeve = people who don’t mind their own business.

300 plus calories, holy shit o.p., are you trying to starve yourself? it that per day, meal, or what? fuck,i have that in a snack, and i’m not overweight by any means. i can do a 10 pound ham in one sitting, and love roast beef too. then there are the extras that i munch on over the run of a day.
i weigh in right now at about 160 and have for quite some time. no matter what i chow down on. am i active, not as much as i used to be.i hunt, fish, go wheeling, and no, don’t exercise other than that. i smoke, and have the occasional drink or 6.it‘s all about genes, o.p., all about genes. fuck what anyone else thinks or says to you.
Overweight after 2 years on a diet? Man, that person must be freaking massive…..must be pushing 500lb or more of cellulite. Fat people are funny….they complain they can’t eat anything without gaining weight, yet the rest of us can eat whatever we like and still remain lean and trim 🙂 OB, sabotage Chunky’s diet…..start leaving slices of cake, cookies, candies, etc in their office.

Oh zilla. Usually I let things roll off my back, but when these annoying things are a regular thing, it’s nice to just get a rant out there. Generally, I get annoyed/frustrated with something, I rant about it and then I’m done. That’s about as pissy as I ever get. I stay mad for about 30 seconds and I’m done.

I agree with what xeno said – you can’t control what she says to other people, but if you politely inform her that her talk is hurtful/rude to you for x reason, maybe she will think twice next time about blathering on about it. OR, maybe she will be like one of those fricken annoying people, with no sense, who make it into a big thing because they feel attacked or embarrassed on some level. I guess only you, OP, are in the position to judge which type of reaction would be more likely.

That’s what I like about PK, personally. She’s sweet and nice, but not one of those fucking annoying overly nice (fake as a 3 dollar bill) people that never disagrees with anything. She’ll let you know if you’re full of shit or an SET.
By the way I had a chicken poutine from Robert’s Pizza on Windmill last night, and they used chicken finger chicken instead of the plain for no extra charge. $10 for a large. I highly recommend.

Tell her to try the new raw potato diet OP. Just peel one small potato, pop it in your mouth and leave it there all day. your body actually absorbs the nutrients it needs without all the calories. One other benefit, SHE CAN’T TALK!!!
OP here and responding to comments:
1) I have on numerous occasions politely asked her to limit the diet talk around me. She obliges for a few days then is back at it full force
2) mr. meaty saying I have unresolved hatred for fat & fat people. Partially right. I have nothing against fat people, their bodies, their choices, their hormones, whatever. I don’t care if you’re fat or thin. As a recovered anorexic, I will likely always have issues with my own body image. If I were a recovered alcoholic and was faced with a coworker shouting “boozeboozeboozeboozebooze” all day every day I would have an issue with that. Hence why I don’t care for my coworker to be spouting a neverending diet stream. Yeah, it’s triggering. It sucks. And I imagine that even without a history of ED (that’s eating disorder not erectile disfunction btw) it’s annoying to listen to.
3) regarding the 300 calorie thing. I agree that it’s fishy. however she’s been on so many diet fads that her body is probably way confused and retaining fat to preserve itself (camel crossing the desert syndrome) Or she binges. I don’t know. Or care.
4) regarding the 300 calorie thing. Someone misread. I eat 300+ calorie meals – not starving myself anymore thank you very much. It’s my coworker with the obsession with that number not me. I’m healthy and proud of it.
