Just read online about a little jack russell terrier that was mauled to death in Dartmouth. Second time something like this has happened in the last few months. I could not imagine what this little dog had to go through and it’s poor owner having to watch their beloved pet being ripped to shreds.
For FUCK’s sake if you’re walking your freaking dog make sure it is on a leash! This senseless incident could have been avoided if the owner of the attack dog had been responsible enough and considerate enough of others to make sure their dog was under their control. Letting your dog walk beside you on the sidewalk leashless is NOT controlling the dog.

way i see it o.p., if you got a freaking dog, then there is something wrong with the wiring in it’s head. something that a bullit can fix quite easily.
now don’t go getting me wrong, or all bent out of shape because of what i just wrote. but it’s true, some dogs are not able to be helped, and should be done away with.
i’m not talking about killing certain breeds of animals here, maybe it would help, but doubt it veryu much. most of the problem is the owners of these dogs, and other biting, maiming animals. cats can be a real bitch too, teeth and claws there.a cat scratch is painful, maybe more than their bite.but dogs are the subject, so we will go there.
all dogs are pack animals, since the dawn of time, and before that.when man accepted them into their caves and lives, things started to happen and go wrong. they had no chance to hunt or forage for food, no chance for real exercise, and no chance to interact with others of their kind.
now you take your little toy dogs, they are just to look at, no real use there. terriers of all breeds are hunting dogs, and have a short fuse sometimes. the bigger mastiffs are for guarding and fighting, and should never have tried to been tamed.
the only good dog is one that is not owned by you, and as such, can bite no one. but llet’s look at that aggain, all dogs bite, chew, and maul, if they get a chance to. playtime with them is good, but no toys that they can bite into, tear, or otherwise destroy.
believe me, i have had every kind of dog going, at one time or other. so i know where i am in this. bigger is not always better, nor is smaller. you have to pick the breed most likely, not to get you in shit with.
rotties, dobermans, and pitbull mastiffs are a big nono, for small apts., they need space, or they get bored and will get frustrated if they are loose.check the breed before you get it, will save you and pooch a lot of heartache and headaches down the road. whew fuck, i’m done now.
OP, some people are just bad pet owners. If a person can’t afford the proper obedience classes for their dog, you shouldn’t get the animal in the first place. Irresponsible dog owners should be thrown in a dog cage with a t-bone steak tied to their face. Our two dogs took the classes, were socialized around other dogs, easily learned the proper commands, and we can easily walk them off-leash in parks and beaches (in the designated areas) without fearing they’ll attack another dog or person. Just imagine what those bad owners are like when they start reproducing and popping out children.
If a dog attacked mine, I would kick the shit out of the dog, then the owner. I love dogs, but you mess with mine, and you’re gunna get it.
On a lead and in many cases wearing a muzzle in any public areas, especially where they are many people and other animals in close quarters, – except in non-leash areas. Usually, well trained dogs will obey commands, even in stressful situations, but even then problems may arise. So best if all Fidos are under direct control at all times when away from their home turf. And even a leash is no guarantee of safety if a fight breaks out between some dogs.
I currently do not own a dog, but have owned several in the past. If I did again, they would be on a lead when in public as all the others were. And they were well socialized.
Sad stuff.. I hope that dog owner is prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
until cat owners have to put their cat’s on leashes, I don’t see any harm in being less than perfect with my dog.
On-leash 😉

We’ll have to wait until the next time Hale-Bopp swings through the system to have a sit-down.
Hmmmm GV…. don’t see many articles in the paper about a CAT mauling another cat to death or attacking someone and seriously harming them. Mind you I know people who have been seriously hurt by their cats though.. but you can’t compare keeping a dog on a leash in public to a cat running around loose. That being said if your dog is running around loose and it picks off the nuisance cat my neighbours let run around destroying stuff I’d owe you big time 🙂
I hope the irresponsible piece of cr@p owners of the attacking dog gets theirs. It’s not the dog’s fault. It’s just an animal. The owners of that dog should be held accountable.
well, I tried my best to find youtube footage of a jack russell terrier that was vicious and mean, but they are too muttly to be a concern to anyone.
I guess I will just have to send my condolences to the JRT owner. its a shame to see any dog hurt in a fight.
Well say what you want about leashes, but I have a thirteen tear old yellow lab that has never owned a leash. Ever since she was a pup, she stopped at the curbs and sat down, listens to everything I say and there is no way in hell that until she goes deaf that I will put a leash on her. There is nothing that could make her attack, children or adults or other dogs. To say that all dogs need to be on a leash for fear of them biting something is just plain stupid.
Now I also have a 95lb pitbull-mastiff mix, he needs to be on a leash, as he has mixed reactions with other dogs. He has the ability to do some serious harm, i dont think he would, but to be safe i keep him under control at times.
You’re right SHITD but not everyone can be trusted to raise their pup as well as you did, so therefore the rule is all dogs on leashes. There are places you can let them run loose but if you’re in a crowded area, you should have him on leash, at the very least for the sake of others peace of mind. They don’t know if your dog is a good dog or not.
i have a little jack russell mixed with a miniature pincher and she’s the most loveable dog I have ever met. All she does is jump on you and lick your face and all she wants is to love you! IF any dog tried to hurt my little abby id probably try and kick it or do something to get it to stop!! MY little sister was attacked by a huge pit bull who bit her mouth and she had to have stitches where her dimples on her face are. Dogs like this should be fucking killed only if they are threats to society – humans and other animals.
ivan, maye we should consider scotia square sometime for a summit.it‘s wheelie accessable and has a lot of different food there, and lots of places to sit,and also central.
I think with dogs, a leash requirement is perfectly reasonable for the safety of the dog and other people. The recent incidents with mauled dogs plus people that have been attacked are the obvious reason but there is the fact that a lot of people are actually quite frightened of dogs to the phobic point.
We as dog owners know our dogs are friendly and won’t hurt anyone or anything but these people just don’t want any part of the animal. I know this is a small part of the population but I believe we should respect their boundaries. Try to imagine people having 5′ long, 80 pound earwigs or centipedes as pets and letting running around and jump up on you, then you would getting in the head of the dog phobic person.
for lovepink, does it look anything like these guys? http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/minniejack.htm
