Why are our troops not being used to help with this fire? We are not at war and there is no reason we can’t send 100,000 troops in and end this in a week! You wanted the job, you got it. Now get your head out of your ass and do something about it. —One Pissed Off Canadian

  1. OP – Are you suggesting we use Military personnel as ground crews to fight the “Beast”?

You don’t know much about forest fires, do you?

Nobody, but nobody, is fighting this fire on the ground. Ground crews are for hot spots.

Perhaps you should do some reading before criticizing.

BTW – Where are you fighting the fire from…..your couch?

  2. OB was in Toronto years ago when Mel called in the Military to clear the snow…

  3. What the hell is the military supposed to do? Shoot at it? They could maybe help triage the displaced but the province, volunteers and red cross seem to have that handled pretty well. Think of the cost of transporting, housing and accommodating
100, 000 troops. We get it, you’re still butt-hurt that the liberals got elected.

  4. How could we send 100,000 troops when there are less than 70,000 regular force troops.

  5. There is an old military dictum which goes:
Amateurs think in terms of tactics.
Professionals think in terms of logistics.
And, morons, who think that having seen every Transformer movie makes them competent to hold forth on military matters, will find every opportunity to embarrass themselves on the Internet.
Educate yourself on the second one. And while you’re at it, Google Operation LENTUS.
