Why in the hell is this city always soo littered with garbage? I’m not sure what’s worse, those who show absolutely no respect for the outdoors or the police &/or government for not:
a) fining the bastards who litter or
b) not cleaning the city up.
Yes it’s only the end of March, but the snow & ice are gone! And I just love driving along the BiHi or the Circ…provincial highways that are within the city….who gets to clean these up????….usually the province at the END of the summer!!!!
If the city looks like hell to those of us who live here, what does it look like to visitors??

There are three bus stops along my most frequent commute that are absolutely disgusting… they don’t have garbage cans there, not even the tiny ones attatched to a light-post. People will use garbage receptacles if they are there, every other bus stop on the route that has a trash can is clean as a whistle.
Sorry, they’re already over-budget on spring cleaning costs.
Saw crews out on the 103 yesterday and Tuesday picking up trash. Adopt-a-Highway groups will also be getting out soon. Too bad that it even has to be done. People should be able to hang onto their garbage long enough to make it to a trash can. The sentence for littering should be for the guilty party to have to do litter pick-up along streets and highways. It might make someone think twice before they just toss their garbage out the car window.

Canada’s Ocean Playground is now Canada’s Dumping Ground. A bylaw should be created that holds property owners responsible for removing all litter in a timely manner. The Tim Horton’s in Bayer’s Lake is looking like a landfill.
it’s pretty sad, i sometimes pick up random pieces of garbage on my walk to work, if everyone did that instead of littering i can imagine the city would be sparklin’. that’s not very realistic though i guess. even a couple people could make a little bit of difference though 🙂 or so i like to think.

Haha. I don’t litter, but this reminds me of a couple of funny incidents.
One time my friend and I were driving by on South Park street, about to pass through the intersection with University Ave/Morris St, and I saw this guy walking with a McFlurry cup, and I could tell he was done and looking to ditch it. There was this house on the corner that had all this garbage on the front lawn anyway, and he just tossed it… and then this girl walking by totally called him out on it, bitching him out about how it’s not his property (the house), yadda yadda yadda. It was hilarious. We wanted to roll down the window and give her a cheer.
Then another time I was talking down Spring Garden, and I had to trash something, but I forget what it was… either way, it was light. And apparently it was a windy day, as when I went to practically submerge my hand in the garbage can to make sure it got in, it pretty much flew right out of my hand and down the street… all I could think was, “Well, now everyone thinks I’m a littering prick.” I just didn’t feel as though it was worth it to go running down Spring Garden chasing after a tiny piece of garbage so people would think otherwise.
Take a walk along Barrington Street just past the bridge….What a dump.
People toss crap out of their cars every morning and evening too and from work.

I agree with this bitch, city looks like a dump lately. No pride combined with fat suburban fucks tossing stuff out their car windows. I try to pick up a couple pieces of litter on my way home every day. Bell Road and the grounds of St Pat’s are particularly bad.
Singapore has a big fine for littering and makes the offenders work as city cleaners.
