I couldn’t believe the fucking media hype over this storm. CNN had 24 hour coverage, covering everything from sewage drenched reporters to some rogue waves. If they could have gotten an interview with said rogue wave, I might have stayed tuned. This hurricane didn’t blow as much as it sucked. —Yawn, Hope Hurricane Jose Has Some Cojones

Between the over-hyped, maybe, possibly, could be arrival of Irene and the beatification of Pope Jack it was a shitty week news wise.
It was a killer storm. Many people lost their lives. Just not here. Count yourself lucky it didn’t hit hard here and you are still around to feel so deprived.
That’s it, dumb ass. Piss off the hurricane gods, whydoncha. If Jose hits full force and my house goes floating down the street, I’m moving in with you. Make room.

THe hurricane was fucking serious business. We were just lucky to have it not really come anywhere near us.
I can’t believe the people like you talking smack about a non-entity that didn’t even come within range of us but caused some serious fucking damage in other parts of the world. Jesus christ you retards. I’m sorry, but this bitch makes you sound like an idiot who doesn’t understand the weather.
Jose ain’t doing fuck all… we won’t even see it

now Katia… there we have a decent chance.

compared to Juan, this thing could be even bigger….
it’s already formed and should be a Cat 2 or 3 before it even gets to the place Juan first started

They have to fill the airwaves with something…and weather is soooooo easy…
“Hope Hurricane Jose Has Some Cojones” – Sounds like you’re wishing death and destruction on people OB, that would be a real shit thing to do.
You are an idiot. In your late teens, early twenties, without a care in the world. This Hurricane killed people and ravaged many cities on it’s way up the coast. It missed you, so you think nothing happened.
Pull your head out of your ass you selfish twit.
Open your eyes, and help someone in need.
You’ve never so much as opened a door for someone have you?
always be prepared ’cause nature might not give a shit about you next time op. yeah i really missed the death and destruction that storms can bring…you are a leotard
He’s a nice boy. A little slow, pushes on doors marked “pull”. Otherwise, hard worker. Strong back, good teeth.
Would you have rather mass destruction, no power or gas or stores open etc, careful what you wish for…
you can only play monopoly and cribbage by candlelight for so long ….
not being able to shower….
food spoiling….
before you go insane.
How the hell can you feel ok complaining about us not receiving what was predicted!! How about you give thanks that it died down and didn’t affect our area. Others lost lives, homes and loved ones!
You’re a class A twat.
Shit I’d still shower. I don’t care if the water is cold as ice. The furnace at my parents’ house fucked up one wintery morning and even though I gave myself a headache, I still washed my hair, at least in the ice cold water before I went to class.
Maybe it’s my OCD, but I can’t live in my own skin if I’m unshowered.
In any event, the birth rate tends to go up 40 weeks after a weather incident that cuts out power because there’s not much else to do but, YOU KNOW. 😛
40 people are dead and there are rivers that still haven’t crested; Ive got friends in Jersey who would love to punch you in the throat once they stop fleeing from their homes. CNN can’t fake 7+ billion dollars worth of damage.
I don’t think anyone is saying it wasn’t serious south of us, most of them are. But up here, for the most part they aren’t. Here’s what’s going to happen (and has happened in the past), there will be warnings after warnings after warnings how bad it’s going to be and everybody stock up, and we will have what we got over the weekend, some rain and some wind, nothing major. Then when something that we should be really worried about comes, we are going to ignore it. It’s called crying wolf.
For this area, wait til it hits NYC or Boston then figure it out and report (not hype it).
Billions in damages over 40 deaths, & you call it a pussy storm !
Your an asshole.
We were lucky & you’re to stupid to realise it .
I’ve realized that the OB is complaining that there wasn’t enough death and destruction, to keep him amused and gratified.
“It’s interseting when people die.” – Don Henley
..yep..as you kids say .this storm was an epic fail..i mean where was the sucking chest wounds and disembowelled childrens ..i mean cum on..pfft 🙂
While second-to-second coverage is typical, 2 things:
No-one forced you to watch CNN; and
I am sorry not enough people died or enough of our shit got ruined to appease your fondness for suffering.
Fuck off and go back to your Kardashian reruns…
..I actually heard some lefty say’n that motha nature was wreaking revenge for Jack Layton’s early arrival in the great commune/organic garden in the sky.. 🙂
there be loonies south of the border too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu8BvCSNDmA…
I suppose it was Gee-Bus who saved this guy too….

someone needs to slip some chlorpromazine in her cornflakes every morning.
No it didn’t hit hard here but it did in other areas.
My best friend just moved to Louisiana. Every time I hear of a hurricane coming up the gulf coast I worry horribly about her.
If anything like Katrina happened to her I would lose it. You don’t find friends like her every day and it’s bad enough that she lives so far away.
So fuck you, OP.
I’m still surprised America doesn’t fire missles or declare war on hurricanes and other storms considering that so many have taken American lives and caused so much destruction. Maybe the storms work for Israel or Saudi though…
I suspect the OP was commenting on the media hype. The losses caused by Irene are very sad.
The newest media hype I heard was just this morning. As it turns out, we must all be aware and on guard for the impending arrival of a new, pandemic super-‘flu. It’s (potentially) going to take many thousands of lives (at least). This is bird ‘flu gone nasty. It makes SARS look easy (it wasn’t). Get out there and get your ‘flu shots, though even experts acknowledge the shots won’t help. Now, keep in mind the film “Contagion” is being released on September 9th. Coincidence, or just dumb-ass-etry?
Media hype is just that: hype. Be more discerning of information and its sources, then you’ll be much less media hype-stressed.
I’ve spent a lot of time in NYC, and seeing Ali Velshi next to the South Street seaport, or the other one at Battery Park, with the river two feet over the embankment, is pretty scary. They are really lucky down there. If this had been a category 2 at landfall with 4 or 5 feet more storm surge, lower Manhattan would need months and months to remove and replace every underground electric cable (and there are a lot of them) – not to mention the damage to subway tunnels and the like. It was *that* close, literally inches away, from happening.
If that happened, dartmouthy, the Americans would somehow blame the Arabs for it.
A “pussy” storm? It was a post-tropical depression when it reached here, so it was warm and wet but I think the Yanks may have a different view. No to mention Quebecers, 250,000 of which lost power.
And the Seppies will find a way to blame ROC.
OP, the media loved dropping the “remember Hurricane Juan” sentence. WTF. That’s all Nova Scotians talk about every time a storm is mentioned in the news. Irene had little effect here. The next day the beaches were awesome again……clear skies, warm temperature, and nice water. We need a storm to blow the over-hyped, “need a story before the deadline” media pussy-clown employees away.
a pussy what now?
http://gizmodo.com/5836224/before-and-afte…
That was in New Jersey, not here. We are talking about what we got here, not south of us. Now the news is a big ass hurricane forming off of AFRICA for fuck sakes. Until it hits NYC/Boston, I don’t give a shit. STop trying to panic people. Keep up these disaster warnings where nothing happens and when some real shit is about to happen we’ll ignore it. Warn when necessary, not for fucking headlines.
40 dead, may possibly end up being the most costly storm in american history – but yeah nothing happened… fuck wads…
