To the person who allowed their puppy to wander off leash… I wish I could take it away from you and give it a good home. I was on a bus Monday afternoon when I saw a white puppy running down the sidewalk with the irresponsible owner walking nonchalantly behind. The puppy didn’t stop at the end of the sidewalk and started to run out into traffic. If the man on the other side of the street hadn’t just missed his bus by a few seconds I think the dog would have been hit. A stranger stopped traffic to save your dog’s life and you just kept walking to the store like nothing was wrong with your puppy running 25 feet in front of you. Put your dog on a leash if you’re taking him for a walk! —Dog Lover

Maybe the owner doesn’t stop at the end of the sidewalk either and walks in front of moving vehicles. We can only wish. The owner doesn’t deserve to have the dog.
are you certain that was the owner? and not just some joe schmo such as yourself watching the dog….
So I see zzz, if it’s not yours you can just stand there and watch a puppy run into the street guilt free. Nice attitude. It should be made harder to own a pet, there seem to be some seriously undeserving owners lately.

Better for the dog to be hit by a bus than me. And I agree who is to say the person walking owned the dog. Did they go get it after the incident?
Hey, I’m the OP and it was definitely this guys dog.
After the stranger stopped traffic he picked up the dog and looked around for the owner and the guy raised his hand, took the dog, carried it for a few steps until the stranger was out of sight and then set it on the ground to run off again.
that’s the kind of person you like to kick in the ass. but by law, are not allowed to. i see this every now and then. when i lived in bridgewater, i worked with the s.p.c.a., and just happened upon an incident identical to this one. i stiopped traffic, picked up dog, and then wrote her up, under animal control bylaws for the town. and oh yeah, i took the dog with me. went to cop shop, talked to shirlen simone, the chief at the time, and told him what happened.
i guess she went in there about an hour later, and started to get all pissy, chief told her to shut up, or he would charge her for letting dog loose, and a potential traffic hazzard. she never did come for the little dog,he lived with my ex and i for 5 years, til he died. a little white poodle.
Harper… if he was just some schmoe walking along, you would expect JUST him to run to catch up and save the dog? rather than expecting the people already in front of the dog to stop and save the little fucker?
