To all of those who still feel the need to pollute the air by smoking while they’re waiting for the bus: you’re killing me. And yourself, and everyone else around you. I even try to avoid the smoke, but it’s impossible with so many people breaking the law. Have some consideration please, we’re all trying to do the right thing by taking public transit. Everyone would benefit if you just cut it out.

How would I benefit? And since when did smoking become illegal? If you don’t like it go to Russia.
Sick of whiney fucks who think the universe should revolve around them. Go take a dump, OP.
if you think smoke outside is going to kill you well you are a moron and an idiot!
Public smoking and public transit in ONE bitch…wow. Now if the smoker was fat we would have an LTWWB hat trick.
Man some nonsmokers just can’t leave what’s, over done already, alone !
This nonsmoker bandwagon needs to have its wheels removed, & all the riders told to take a fuckin’ hike… smokers are by LAW out of Bars & Resturants, They’re out of all public spaces indoors & out! Witch is fucked up guy’s, your outside ! ! ! All the chimney’s everywhere are …OUTSIDE. All the exhaust pipes on all of the vehicles around you are ….OUTSIDE.
Acid Rain is falling on you & the whole Province every time it we get percipitation & your fucking going on, about a goddamned cigarette smoked outside !!!
& what I find completely fucked up about the N.N.B. (Nonsmoking Nazi Brigade), you assholes got smokers…..wait for it….. kicked out of SMOKING ROOMS ! ! ! That is without doubt one of the most fucked up, absurd things that has occured in my life time .
P.S.- & just because I CAN…I spelled it WITCH instead of WHICH ! ! ! ~;p
signed a nonsmoker
Yore
your
you’re
L O L
newsflash, you’re dying already anyways…. if you make it a day past 80 you’ll be doing good… and I don’t think a little smoke (while sucking in all those exhaust pipes waiting by the side of the road) is going to make a great deal of difference….
it smells wonderful… and you don’t have the bad taste in your mouth or smell on your clothes/hands/face. enjoy it while your* young!

**Spelled Incorrectly On Purpose
Can’t wait for my Cuban vacation where I can smoke just about anywhere, in the lobby, in the bar, the restaurants, etc, at $2.00 a pack.
Remember those 80’s bumper stickers that self-righteous yuppies used to put on their doors ” Of Course we have a smoking room; it’s outside” Well guess what princess, you are sure as hell outside. And I’m not even going to belabor the irony of sucking in diesel fumes while playing chicken little about some diluted tobacco smoke. I don’t even mind people smoking in bus shelters since only a municipal bureaucrat could call something with 3 walls “Indoors”.
Plus when it’s really cold we all get to huddle around the ember.
IIRC, NGF, it’s illegal to smoke at bus stops/terminals.
Its not illegal to smoke at a bus stop! There’s hundreds of bus stops around the HRM and smoking is not restricted what so ever. There’s one a good 50 feet from my front door and smokers spark up constantly there.
Its illegal. Fuck right off. So is the Iraq War but nobody bitches about Americans killing brown people.
I’m pretty sure the bylaw states that there’s no smoking at bus stops and/or terminals. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. Smoking pot is illegal but everyone and their dog smokes a hoot at some point.
If you don’t like it don’t–
Ah fuck it, I give up…
Mind Snap, baby, talk to me! Is that good for nothing so-called man of yours out of the picture yet?
There are no smoking signs at the terminals but that rarely deters anyone. I just walk to a far end and hope that no one is smoking nearby.
What I really hate is when someone who has been smoking gets on the bus and sits down beside me. They reek of smoke. It’s disgusting.
and with a breeze, there is about a million cubic feet of air blowing betwwen you.fuck off you stupid son a bitch, this has been trashed out on here 50 times already. don’t like, then by all means, move the fuck somewhere else, thank you for not bugging me today.
The bus stop down the street is just a sign on the pole. Doubt its against any law/rule to smoke on the sidewalk there.
Sorry Q-Man… Still taken

LOVE IT!!
And for all those easily offended and “politically correct” ones out there who may lash out after watching this..it might be offensive, you don’t like..don’t watch.
You’re not supposed to smoke in bus shelters or terminals, but since it’s never enforced, it becomes more of a suggestion than anything.
The argument that the air outside is already full of toxins, therefore adding cigarette smoke shouldn’t be a problem is completely leotarded.
The ocean already has a ton of garbage in it, so if I wanna throw an old couch in there, why should you care?
but hey, it gets rid of the old couch. and maybe the fish can have a new place to hide from the draggers. and that video is fucking funny.
“we’re all trying to do the right thing by taking public transit”
Excuse me, but from what I can tell 9and I took the bus for years), I think, taking the bus is less about doing ‘the right thing’ and more about being broke!
Until the day comes when you forgo a free lift on a rainy day from one of your friends driving a nice, comfy car (think an audi a6 with heated leather seats) in lieu of ‘doing the right thing’, I really think you should get off your high horse!
Kudos Scooby Man… I think you’ve inspired a whole new bitch post in that statement.
This is your new mission, please carry it out promptly, and do us bitches proud! lol
I don’t take the bus due to poorness. I take the bus because I don’t want to drive through traffic and I’d rather be reading my book on the ride.
scoobydoo you’re fucking clueless. I am by no means broke but would rather bus it from Cole Harbour to downtown Halifax during rush hour. Taking the bus from the suburbs during these peak times is “doing the right thing” simply by relieving congestion on the roads. Pull your head out of your ass before you speak again.
Yeah, I have to reiterate that the exhaust from idling buses and 300 cars whizzing down Robie per hour is a little more harmful to you than the dude havin smoke while waiting for the bus.
It’s not just the exhaust, but the consequential effects of running motor vehicles at every moment in every city and town in every single place in the world. Jeez. Lighten up, ass fart.
PAS, for your comparison to be proper, you would have to be a fish living in the ocean….
complaining about someone throwing a couch in the water when you’re already surrounded by scum and garbage.
and we all know fish can’t complain… they just sit there with a stunned look on their face.
silly.
My head’s not in my ass Broc, I said taking the bus is LESS about doing the right thing and MORE about being broke, ie: i didn’t say that it was about being broke for everybody, but I think most would probably agree that the majority of people on the bus are there because they don’t own a car. I agree that taking the bus is ‘doing the right thing’, but it still doesn’t mean most people do it by choice! I commuted for 3 years by train (most of it standing since there weren’t enough seats) and bus- my days were 12 hours long because of it. Ask me if I still gave a shit about my carbon footprint after doing it for 6 months! I’d have happily traded in my train ticket for the keys to a gas guzzling ugly-as-crap Hummer!
Sucking in bus fumes and other common carginogens and whining about smokers . Don’t like – move . Self rightious pricks like you are lame. I don’t smoke no more but i could care less if someones on the street smoking at a bus stop . If I don’t like it – i just move and light a joint myself .Our right not to smoke and they’re right to smoke . One doesn’t have more right then the other . Yea move to russia or something . I’m voting this one ” best its all about me ” bitch of the month . Ps I stashed tampons at your bus stop – go use one and shut up .
Smoking
Passengers are not permitted to smoke while on transit vehicles, bus shelters and terminals, or ferry terminals in accordance with the Fares & Property By-law, prohibiting smoking in public transportation vehicles and facilities.
Violators will be subject to a maximum penalty of $1000 under the by-law.
Where is the Bus Stop Bylaw here ? Just says terminals , shelters and inside vehicles . Outside the shelter isn’t mentioned . Therefore it isn’t illegal or mandated by law – smoke away fuckers !! It’s your right !! So’s mine for smoking joints at a bus stop – but i doubt you would complain about that – beside siding up to me and asking for a blast !!!
“”Remember those 80’s bumper stickers that self-righteous yuppies used to put on their doors ” Of Course we have a smoking room; it’s outside””‘
LMAO, you’re right! I remember those…nice one Ivan
bump!
Worst smoking related smell ever…… A smoker getting in a few quick puffs before the bus takes off on a rainy day and rushing onboard and sitting next to you with their half smoked butt in their pocket…..UGH….its always worse when its raining or cold too….GROAN…. Yes I was a smoker, so yes I get it, but jesus if you only smoke half the thing, throw the rest out or give it to one of the many people walking around bumming smokes, God knows there is no shortage of those.
And for the love of god please don’t smoke and push a baby stroller….it’s totally nasty and makes you look like a cheap whore.
i’m an hourly smoker and a three or four times daily bus rider and i have the courtesy to move away from stops when i light up. i know it isn’t illegal to smoke at a bus stop. i’m perfectly within my right to smoke by, on, at, under or above a bus stop. nobody can stop me. i am not allowed to smoke at a terminal or in a shelter. that’s fine.
i step away from bus stops when i smoke because i don’t want to give self righteous fucks another reason to complain about their rights while forgetting about mine. most smokers do their part to leave you pansies alone. thank them.
