If your job is to apply potentially harmful chemicals to a person’s skin then I dare say your job is to know what’s going to happen when you do such a thing. If asking questions is an appropriate part of that job then they’d better get asked! This is no different than going to a beauty salon to get your hair permed and having the process screw up so that you’re going home bald. That, my friends, is cause to sue, seek reparations and be “made whole” by the courts. The question is what’s your skin/hair/appearance worth? Write this bitch to a lawyer and you’ll have a new best friend.

I didn’t have something so terrible happen when getting my eyebrows waxed, but I have gotten a paper cut on my eyelid from the waxing strip… that was annoying

Estheticians are a mixed lot if you ask me. The one I go to now is great—truly a professional, but it took me a while to find her.
One of them gave me particularly bad attitude during a routine wax; I got a distinct “why can’t you just do this yourself at home” vibe. Hey, like it’s my fault she chose such a personal line of work, advertises the service and charges handsomely for it as well.
My advice OP is to be more careful because of the medication, but keep looking around for someone who is more knowledgable in their job.

Well, Paingirl, it can be a bit, well, painful . . . but compared to other methods I’ve tried the results are pretty good for the time and money spent.
When your blessed with the lovely “mediterranean” complexion and hair colour, sometimes you need a little help to keep things from getting a bit too “natural.”
Not a big deal in the winter, but in the summer I do like to go to the beach or the pool, so a bit of “touching up” is required.

Esthetician or Barista hum so many career choices being offered at NSCD these days?
I get my eyebrows shaped every few months or so and keep it up on my own with plucking/trimming. The esthetician I go to is really awesome and always gives me a head/forehead massage with essential oil afterwards. She’s really not the expensive either.
I have, however, been to estheticians who has definite attitudes. Like they’re too GOOD to be working on you. I had a spa day once (xmas present from my dad) and the esthetician was a bit…snotty, and I went to get my eyebrows done by someone at a more upscale salon and she really had a definite attitude problem (and did a shitty job too).
It’s really a matter of shopping around and sticking with someone you find who’s awesome.
That sucks OP, complain to the manager or something.
Personally, I do my own brows and other areas. But if you’re looking for a different option OP, try threading, it’s less painful and it looks cleaner and more natural, but best of all will not likely rip your face off.
