You can fault today’s people that think all this ,”right to express themselves” and them people that think it is against someone’s right to be an individual. Back when i went to school, every catholic school student was wearing a uniform. Then the talk about someone’s “right to wear street clothes” came in, and someone sued and this and that…. and the uniform bit the dust. Really, this wasnt a big deal less than 15 years ago. 15 years ago, a kilt meant you went to catholic school. Weird how the same thing is associated with rich snobbery
Homie, just an insignia from a private school screams rich to me, or more to the point the fact the OP says she’s from a private school screams out rich.The shut the hell up screams snob more than anything else.And really any school is what you make of it. The general consensus around where I grew up was that nobody good ever grew in my hometown. Myself and a lot of friends proved that wrong.

I’ve always wondered about how much the parents actually do care about their girls when they send them out in the morning dressed like a pedophile’s dream come true. Maybe the parents are more interested in the status of having a child in private school, than the welfare of the child.I went to private school, but there were no uniforms, so there was no visible difference between us and kids who went to public school. I think that was a good thing.

Too much dependency on these instruments these days. You can also put loads of formulas/answers in these, you probably use this too get “good grades” too.

agreed cat lady, i was cool with it, but they do get heckled an awful lot, for something they really didnt choose. Perhaps her wording of the frustration makes this seems worse than it might be.

I agree 5 Gum… No one should be made fun of… but in the same breath, the OP did the exact same thing.. Made fun of (or thats what i took from that comment) of kids who DONT go to private school…. My cousin goes to a private school.. And his family is FAR from rich! My aunt works two jobs JUST to pay the tuition… But because he goes to a private school, money or not, doesnt give him the right to think he is better then me..
Young lady,I’m sorry about your unfortunate ordeal on the bus. However, if you think that you are mature enough to be posting comments on “Love the way we Bitch”, I think that you could have handled your disappointment in a more productive way than tearing down the public school system and the people that benefit from it. Although your parents may have made a good decision sending you to a private school, public school might have been just as good for you. The only issue here is that you won’t know unless you have spent some time in the system. Teachers and staff at public schools care about their students just as much as teachers and staff at private schools. Although you may have a different curriculum, your public school counterparts will get into the same universities, graduate with the same grades, and be at the same level if they want to be. Whats more is that those kids at public school are more likely to have a deeper understanding of the world around them thanks to being exposed to a higher percentage of people from different socioeconomic backgrounds. I realize that there are students at private schools in Halifax who attend on scholarship or money that their parents have saved up over the years, but what you learn from the people you spend time with is always more important than what you can put on paper at the end of the day.I really think that you could use a cup of green tea.
