People are always complaining how high their power costs. I think power is very cheap compared to everyday non-essentials. We can live without cellphones. We can live without cable TV. We can live without computer access to the www. But I rarely hear of people complaining about how much cable, tv, and internet costs. Power is cheaper than the bundles offered by the available companies. I pay $90 for power every 2 months for my house. Yet I pay $140 every 2 months for internet and landline phone. I think these companies should have lower prices considering they don’t have anywhere the operating costs of a POWER company. Cable companies are basically a pure profit enterprise and we need to BITCH to them for lower prices. Then when our power rates increase we can afford to pay it.

Yeah, about that. I pay over $300 for power every 2 months in the winter due to electric heat. Not everyone has hot water heating or has heat included in rent.
Also, if people can live without, why should they complain?

Living without a phone, especially when you are in business is very difficult.
Having no power , in my case is almost intolerable. I have a well, so I have a pump to pump my water. living in your home with no water is tough. Which means I need electricity & is why I have a generator, for the times that the power goes out.
Cable is the stupidest thing ever. You can watch whatever show your heart desires online for free and with less commercials (sometimes none), oftentimes on channel websites like Global, CTV, CBC, etc.
Power isn’t that cheap for everyone out there. Considering some business had to close down over the cost of power going up even.
Yeah Op , your power bill might be cheap but it doesn’t mean everyone else’s is.
Then you need to consider the ones who do go without the internet , cell phones , cable tv and just get the basic home phone.
Those people usually are just barily getting by so the power going up is a big deal to them.

so, you really think power is cheap, you ever lived in a place with electric heating, in the winter? it can get real fucking costly o.p., i know, i used to have a brand fucking new mobile home back in the 80’s. that fucking power bill was thru the roof, every month, not two. when you have a pro rated shit thing, they gouge you more, and you cannot get an ordinary power hookup, has to be for electric heat.
i have seen bills that were over 400 bucks month, and like i said, that was in the 1980’s, 85-87 to be exact. the rates were cheaper then, but still outragiously high, and now we have today. people have to have power, or they freeze in winter, and starve, unless they eat grass and roots. never mind a cooked meal, you have to mortgage your home and kids to pay the bi-monthly bill. the only way that you would not be bitching about the rates, is if YOU were working for them.

The people complain about power because we have no choice…
either you pay and get it or you’re swapping out the batteries from your (likely over used) vibrator to put in the flashlight so you can see what you’re doing while you cook a grilled cheese by hand with your lighter.
At least with cable/net/phone you have a selection (one also being ‘not at all’) without impacting whether you can sleep without freezing to death… or take a nice, long shat… in an illuminated room, and have la toilet just pump it all away….
or even a nice shower in the morning so people aren’t complaining about your BO on the bus later on.

OB, they wouldn’t be complaining about the price of electricity if they had the power utility stock in their portfolios 🙂 Telecom companies charges an insane amount because they can, it’s that simple. Hell a data plan in India is just $2/month.
It can’t be that Survivor, no-one in this story has cancer, yet!
