This isn’t really a bitch, but I am truly baffled on how the hell there are people that exist in North America that are fans of clubs like ‘Liverpool F.C’, Manchester, etc. etc… you know what I’m talking about!
Where the hell are they? Not on any of my TV stations! I have basic cable too. Where are they watching them? —Confused and jealous
This article appears in Jun 10-16, 2010.

it’s some kind of shitty sports thing on facebook, and it is most in briton or new zealand.
Just a bunch of pretentious Euro wannabes usually. It’s cool and trendy to be a European soccer fan.
Watching soccer = watching grass grow. The most over-rated and boring sport EVAH!
qpmz just posted the most useless post EVAH!
OP: I watch a lot of EPL games on Fox Sports World Canada. It doesn’t come with basic cable but it definitely worth the few bucks a month if you can afford it. They show a lot of EPL soccer, plus games from elsewhere in Europe and South America.
I guess you saw me walking around with my Liverpool FC jersey on. Sometimes games are shown on tv, often on sundays. I can still follow a sports team even if I don’t see most of their games. This is such a stupid bitch.
I miss watching Arsenal. I know you can watch it on the aforementioned Fox Sport World, ah, I miss digital cable sometimes.
Fook’s sake mate. The best thing about footy is the hooligans.
STRENGTH THROUGH OI!
And this week, Ivan’s Dyspeptic Book Club is reading “Among The Thugs” by Bill Buford.
Little bit of research and you can find Internet live video streams of good to very good quality that will show you almost any sporting event. Soccer absolutely no problem at all. The support for these streams is usually best on Windows with IE.
Interweb? And yes pretentious Europeans or wannabes
So that must mean most Canadians are pretentious NHL star wannabes. Soccer is the world’s most popular and played sport. Europeans do it better than North Americans so why not tune-in to better action?
Same people will praise Euro hockey stars but cry about soccer stars instead. Get over it. There’s other sports in the world besides Olympic and NHL hockey and You-Eff-See.
Don’t you say nuthin about my beloved westham…
actually, I’m not a very big footie fan but Jonnoman’s driving me nuts.
I likely won’t see him at all for the next month or so.
I did actually enjoy watching a ‘soccer highlights’ vid…
but I don’t think I could take watching an entire game at normal speed unless it were like Brazil vs. some drunken midgets from Antarctica with a 7′ 4″ keeper…
World Cup starts this afternoon! Wooo!
Actually, I’ve been following soccer since I watched the Germans obliterate everyone in the 1990 World Cup. I’ve been more of a soccer fan than a hockey fan lately.
Squaddies serving with the British Army of the Rhine in the 1980s were fond of doing nightime route marches through German towns singing at the top of their lungs “Two World Wars and One World Cup – Doo Da, Doo Da.”
I can’t believe the amount of historical facts (and likely a decent amount of fiction) I’ve been exposed to on this site.
purely against my will and yet I keep reading.
ug.
knowledge is power zZz, even the seemingly useless…we have lots of storage capacity
The difference bewteen a fairy tale and a war story zZz is that one begins with “Once upon a time” and the other starts with “This is no shit..” You never know when it’s going to save your ass in a good game of Trivial Pursuit.
Team England (1966) has sucked even longer than the Maple Leafs (1967).
England had a decent team in recent years, but their egos got in the way each time.
Huh? No one cares. What a pathetic bitch. Focus on sports relevant to North Americans.
Setanta Sports, $15 a month from Eastlink. Sportsnet also airs EPL games.
“No one cares” … well just reading the OP makes that statement obviously false.
and it’s all people are talking about all around me here all day…
so… seb, STFU.
Actually, more people in Canada play soccer than hockey, primarily thanks to cost and access. There’s about 873,000 registered soccer players in Canada, versus about 570,000 registered players with Hockey Canada. So, yeah… What about the relevancy?
soccer is much less expensive to play than hockey, and lacrosse is affordable as well. i am only good at fastball
there’s really only one thing wrong with soccer …. it’s as interesting to watch as paint drying … and the final score Togo 0 Mozambique 0
It’s more interesting to watch than baseball.
basically all sports are boring to me since i quit gambling on them 🙁
I like to watch hockey and soccer. That’s about it. Baseball, basketball, and american “football” (you use your fucking hands!) are boring to me. BUT I respect people’s right to watch those sports and don’t make pointless bitches like this.
Snooze fest. Makes curling exciting.
Bro, fuck off.
I get most of the premiership games through my digital cable but you can get the games online too without much hardship. Some of the other leagues are a bit more difficult to find. I can see how someone may not enjoy it, but if you’re a fan it’s really a great sport.
Live stream at
http://www.iraqgoals.net/
but Premier League is over for this year.
I know this may seem crazy… but I SWAER I’m not lying..
they’re watching it on the INTERNET!!
I didn’t believe it at first either, but man, that thing has some capabilities!
