Now that all the pretty wild flowers are out and we stop to happily admire their beauty it would be nice if we could REFRAIN FROM PICKING THEM! Last year there were two or three Painted Trilliums at Nichols lake, before they were mindlessly picked. This year, only one :(. Leave it alone!

  1. Okay, so why’d you title this ‘Pre Bitch’? Is it because you’re preparing for a part two hate filled rampage about people encroaching on your precious, inviolate little petals? Yeesh.

  2. So the lilacs have shown themselves in the Dartmouth park that houses geese near Lake Banook. Exactly one bunch has formed on the bush within reaching distance, so what does the 50 something pedestrian do? She picks it, of course… some people!

  3. fizz: Is the lake anyone’s garden? Three’s right, you yoink trilliums up and it can take several years for them to recover. Mayflowers are a bad one too, they’re decimated every year by people selling them off.

  4. never got the need for this… you’ll see it everywhere.
in front of the library, down streets… tons of stems all clipped off.
I have very little sentimental attachment to flowers (because they attract bees and hornets… and I’d rather not get into that can of worms right now) but to see only greenery is sad. Especially if it’s for drunkards picking them for their one nighter on the way home.

shrubbery, no! We’ve no shrubberies here…..
