So, I recently lost my cat, and have been spending what little spare money I have on posters of her and putting them up, and most of my free time looking for her. I understand that yes, some of these posters may have blown off, there is no way a poster I put up the night before was destroyed by the weather by the next day. Of course this was a colour poster that was put in one of those plastics to protect it as well.
And some douche canoes have even been putting their Band, Yoga workshops, and even Belly Dancing posters over them. There is no way in hell that you guys didn’t see the giant picture of an adorable kitty, and see the size 100 font “MISSING” above it.
I don’t understand why you would be so uncaring that you would just throw your poster up over someone else’s LOST CAT poster. Or why for that reason anyone would feel the need to pull them down, especially when they are brand new, in plastic, coloured, not worn down by the weather.
This makes me very sad Halifax. —Wanting my cat back, but not sure that’s going to happen with the Cat Hater Poster putter uppers

so sorry about your lost cat. rotten bastards to take down your posters.!
I agree GDM–and, REALLY, people putting their other stuff over OP’s “MISSING” posters is just poor behaviour, to say the very least. OP, I also really hope you find kitty–I know what it’s like to have one take off (my very first went missing for almost 3 weeks, once), and I also know how valuable it is to have friends that truly care.
Just an idea: you could probably post your “lost cat” info in the Lost and Found section of The Coast (I am pretty sure you can do that)–a description of the cat, the geographic area where s/he was last seen, and a contact for you (like a secure email, eg, “lostcat@…”)….I sometimes check The Coast’s L&F–if I saw an add like that and I was in the same area I would keep my eyes peeled for you. Really hope you find kitty.
And whose posters did you cover up to put yours on?
I feel your pain mate, I had to have one of my cats put to sleep last week, cancer is a fucker.
make it your mission to find your kitty. Tear them down as you see them. After kitty is found (They often are op 🙂 ) make it your mission to find and tear down the bellytard posters.
because it’s on.
so sorry about your cat basil. it was the final act of love you did.
Bas, my mom says the only times she’s seen Me Old Dad (one tough old bugger) cry is when he’s had to help his beloved cats through that last duty. Condolences, mate.
Sorry about your cat Bas, I have my precious kitties in my back yard.
Anyone who doesn’t believe animals have feelings and can’t comprehend loss, obviously haven’t seen the remaining 2 moggies, the mother and sister of the cat i had to put to sleep, they’re pacing and checking to see where she is.
Kijiji and Facebook are a better way to go. My dog went missing last May (little bugger opened two shut doors) and I posted it on my Facebook timeline. My sister saw it and posted it on her timeline. Meanwhile a lady found my wandering dog, took it in and posted it on her timeline. A Facebook friend of that lady who is also a Facebook friend of my sister’s saw it and contacted my sister who in turn contacted me with the name and address.
I called the lady, explained who I was and went and collected my beloved Ollie. It worked for me.
Thoughtless people to cover your posters OP, I hope you find your feline in good time.
My condolences Baz.
Basil, so sorry to hear about kitty. I lost my oldest this summer, and her feline housemates are still not quite themselves (one still occasionally naps were Katie Mae spent much of her last days). Hope you are all getting through alright–you sound like a lovely cat-dad.

@Reg: I concur–great idea about kijiji (facebook too!) Also, so glad your “lost Ollie-pup” ordeal worked out:)
Don’t take it personal, I bet all those yoga studios and the belly dancers use a postering service, so they’re not personally trying to obscure your posters (it’s the man with the staple gun who’s just trying to do his job). It’s a bummer though 🙁 I hope kitty finds her way home!
