Why do they call politicians honourable? I guess they made it up themselves, with the scandal in Halifax now in the open I hope they get jail time. The only way that they will get the trial they deserve is by a jury not a local judge. Dexter should also be charged for the cameras and probably more. As a tax paying citizen I would sign a petition to have honourable scratched from the title of these so called trusted leaders. —Waynez

He cannot be charged. DD’s expenses, although excessive, were not illegal. You cannot charge someone for doing something legal. Should you get a speeding ticket for going 49 in a 50 zone? The problem for some of them was the rules were too lax, that has been fixed somewhat and if it happens again it will be against the new law.
I do agree with the “Honourable” title being removed though. Look at the Mayor, he is referred to as his worship, that is even worse that “Honourable”
Politicians call themselves ‘right honourable”, for the same reasons philosophers refer to temselvs as “intellectuals”. It sounds much better than “useless fucktard”.
What sticks in my craw is a certain ‘crooked as a dog’s back leg’ CB arsepick who is still squeezing his town’s balls and is now considered an ‘Honourable’. As far as I’m concerned, the title has absolutely no meaning. They can collectively impale themselves on the square nut of a fire hydrant for all I care.
Last year they came door to door in my old apartment building. As if that would make me vote for that particular person. There are actual important issues that never get changed.
You can thank the fact we are England’s cum dump, and we never turfed those fuckers out like the Yanks did… we just rolled over and let them have their way with us – hence why the Queen is still our head of state, and all of these other ridiculous holdovers like calling politicians “honorable” when they are anything but.
I agree, politics have turned into a popularity contest, and away from being true leaders.
Could it be said they also lie? I believe some said they wouldn’t raise taxes, they would remove the bridge tolls when it was paid for.. etc.. ..etc. Now with pending theft charges, they could very well be call liars and thieves!
Our treason laws should be changed; High treason should encompass both what is now treason and high treason. Treason itself should be for the liars and thieves in public office, in order to bring back some honour.
I have absolutely no problem with Honerable being part of their title.
I just wish they’d spell out the whole word to reflect how these super important bozo’s truely are in how they mistreat the so called people they work for.
Why do they deserve 10%+ wage increases ? When working men & women have to fight for 2 & 3 % ?

Really, what is the difference between an autocracy where a select minority retain power via democracy and autocracy of one dictator? When are we going to have our Egypt? It harkens back to the days when respect automatically came with title. Think about how many oldsters you know who are just automatically in awe of or are completely intimidated by doctors or lawyers or various other professions just because they’re doctors or lawyers. News flash: Respect is earned!

No not at all, they have their own problems. But at least their problems are THEIRS alone. They aren’t dependent on an antiquated monarchy from another country.
We aren’t sovereign, never have been, and from the way things look these days, we are sliding into autocratic rule. lol.
At least the yanks, through fighting for their own being, creating their own nation, and enshrining their own beliefs in a constitution right off the bat – they have the means (second amendment rights) to ensure the government is still scared of the people, instead of the other way around as it is here.
