Well, well, well, so Mr. Attorney General says that our overpaid, underworked MLAs have been buying themselves shit like $8000 generators, $900+ Hector models, $4,000 big screen TVs et al, no surprise there, even the union bitch Prem had his chubby little sausages around his nifty little $2000 camera, courtesy of Mr. and Ms. Take-Up-The-Ass-Payer (and let’s not forget the $5000 laptop, shit, is there such a thing?). Thanks a lot , you conniving bastards, thanks from the welfare mom who can’t feed her kids, thanks from the people of Yarmouth who are going to see their home become a ghost town, thanks from every closed rural ER, thanks from every person who would rather scoop their eyeballs out with a hot spoon than have to pay another 2% HST. You should all get a 25% paycut and no raises until the next goddamn election. I hope the pitchfork of public opinion forks their collective beefy buttocks to shreds.

  1. Where do politicians go from wanting to change the world for the better to stealing from the people?

Why does this happen all the time?

I am sure at some point these “leaders” had aspirations to be good people.

We need leaders who want to lead and make this city, province, country better.

They seem to talk the talk until they get voted in and then all they want to do is secure another election and fatten their friends pockets.

Where is their pride in being a good person and making a better place?

  2. Get it right, it was the Auditor General not the Attorney General who probably has his nose in the trough.

  3. This is a prime opportunity for the Premier to secure a second term. He has a majority in the House, something that hasn’t happened in a long time, so he can pass whatever tough legislation on political thievery he wants to. He will see the wisdom of this move, because we all know he reads the Bitch in the Coast, and ask one of his political hacks if this has a chance of gathering brownie points.
Once he has passed the Bill, he can take pics on his $4 million camera and post them on his $28 million laptop on my-space or fuckface or whateverthefuck.com as the taxpayers take it up the hershey highway.

  4. half of this was before D squared even got in office, the 5K was for TWO laptops not one (though they must have been some juiced up, quad core, ram happy, solid state HDD with graphics cards to run Crysis on full specs) …

and I don’t think 14 grand is going to keep a hospital open for very long anyways.

Granted, I am completely on your side that the douchbaggery in power seems to fester deceit and we get taken advantage of all the time.
I don’t like their ‘perks package’ on top of salary more so…
it almost seems they can’t even spend their own salary since tons of shit get written off for them as ‘included in the package of being in the position you are’.

  5. They say it was because the expense claim rules are not very clear. What a bunch of bull. Whatever happend to common sense? What about moral fiscal responsibility? Have you noticed how quick they are fessing up to pay back the money? That is because they cannot defend the expense and they definately new it was wrong at the time the filed the claim and well that is crminal.
WTF does the premier need with a $2000.00 digital camera other than personal use. All aholes

  6. Seems to me like a good reason to vote… They might acctually straighten up if they know people will act…

  7. OB.
    When you’re right……your right!

……and regardless of rules….you know when your doing something right…….and you know when your doing something wrong.

So do they…….and they chose to do wrong.

Did you know that anything they buy for their constituency office……they keep when they close up shop?

I wonder how we got that big dept Nova Scotia is on the hook for????

  8. ROFL The best was the generator dude’s explanation that he was keeping it charged at is house.

Convenient that it was hooked up…

  9. “He steals from the poor, and gives to the rich… stupid bitch!” Premier Dennis Moore.

Had a thing for lupins I think.

  10. It’s broken folks. It’s kleptocracy.

Soon we’ll become inured to the image of sweaty hogs trundlling up to the public trough. So commonplace it has become.

“Hey, a toenail!” Wiggum on slops.

  11. So many strong opinions. Maybe you should all run for office and make a real difference.

Or you could see this as the system working. The auditor general checked the books, found discrepancies and the politicians are correcting the mistake. This is why we have an auditor general and it’s refreshing to see them do their job.

  12. LS, I got my IBM Thinkpad used for $500, brand new $3,000+. I’ve had mine for three years with no problems.

If the Preem (or any of the MLAs) really needed any of these items, they could have gotten them at the provincial storehouse. Believe it or not they have furniture, computers, etc, etc, etc, all ready to go and paid for.

  13. Even if I was up for it, I would never, ever want to run for public office. Not worth it. All the shit you have to do and put up with for relatively minimal compensation… no thanks.

  14. That “keeping the generator charged” bit was fucking hysterical. Funny that my generator doesn’t need to be charged, generators don’t require charging, they PRODUCE electricity. The battery, they’re gel cells now days, no need for any kind of maintenance on them. This clown doesn’t have a fucking clue……and he’s an MLA. I’m sure he’s well educated in all possible ways to get away with this though. This is a fucking disgrace that has been going on for years. It’s just brought to light now, where the fuck were all the other Auditor Generals in the past administrations? Sitting on their fucking hands obviously. I can imagine the shit they let go, or participated in. If Dexter wants to have ANY credibility with his goddamn majority, he’d better change these fucking idiotic rules, or lack of them. Hmmm, gas went up today, fuckers!!!.

  15. Bullet, almost as funny as Frank “$400 meals” Corbett stating even though he apologises for the actions of the House, his name wasn’t on the AG’s list.

  16. “All the shit you have to do and put up with for relatively minimal compensation”

what the hell are you talking about?
they make a bloody fortune and don’t ever get a chance to spend any of it!

drive to halifax for work, write off gas and parking spot….
go out after work for supper at fancy restaurant, mention work a couple times and write it off…
finally go home (not mine, the one I ‘need’ in town for business… you know the one furnished and paid for by taxpayers) to fuck secretary… write off.

finally head home and go to sleep.
    tomorrow’s going to be exhausting…

  17. I am not sure why we as taxpayers do not demand more of the politicians. They are our servants, we picked ’em, we voted them in ( although lately it’s become more like a best of the worst contest). We should demand pay-for performance, if you do not do what you said you were gonna in the election (or prove you made a start) – out you go! on the take, filling your own(s) pockets… out you go! drunk on the job…OUT…..OUT… show us that you needed the most expensive laptop ever ( you were actually helping that salesman earn his commission?? right,), EVEN JUST SHOW US ..THE TAX PAYING PUB-LICK!!!… THAT YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING, ANYTHING OTHER THAN FILL YOUR OWN COFFERS, ANYTHING..REALLY!!! a road somewhere, anywhere, that’s been fixed so that it doesn’t have to be (re)re-repaired next year, an ER that stayed open, a school that’s in the black, a student loan that’s kept pace with the Cost of Living, a piece of the province saved from environmental rape, how gas price regulation is working (NOT!)
    ANYTHING PLEASE.! !
just once I would like to see the people of this province not buy gas for a day or as a group not pay HST for 1 day, just to prove who really is in charge here.

Unknown quote: “there is nothing that is more heartbreaking than democracy, unless it is the illusion of democracy.” Welcome the land of illusion.

  18. All the more reason TO vote. You’re dead on about voting for the best of the worst, the choices today aren’t worth shit. I think because of the pathetic thing they call “leadership” in politics, these clowns are getting all they can before the next election, cause half the time they only get one term. If they had any fucking ability to represent their constituents’ interests and the smallest of ethical responsibility, they’d be in for life, yet these short sighted assholes rape the banker and are gone in a couple years….with their self imposed gold plated pesnions. Fuckin assholes.
