Does anyone who MUST have kitten soft towels and Jolly Green Giant green grass know or care that the substances that give your life meaning are carcinogenic: that means your kids can get cancer. If you had rough towels, your skin would be younger looking and softer and if you planted vegetables in your front lawn or a butterfly bee garden, that might be some hope for butterflies, bees and birds? And the public wouldn’t have to be put at risk from these horrific poisons. Oh you thought advertisers were looking after you? I beg to differ. And where is the city in its enforcement of the pesticide ban? Ahd if it’s insect infestation they’re spraying for, why are the lawns crayon green? —JL

  1. People did a lot worse with a lot more harmful shit in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and lived to tell – and last I checked, earth’s population is growing – so bitch invalidated. Next.

  2. We do this to poison YOU … and only YOU! The rest of the population are immune to these carcinogenics so it is only yourself who will die tragically from them ….. or from worrying about what fabric softener I use on the towel that wipes the crack of my arse each morning!

  3. op, some people do some things, but not others. most people do a little something at least. ride bikes instead of cars, take transit.

lush green lawns are a puzzle to me as well. I hate grass lawns. clover is nice! driving back from eastern shore I saw a yard that has always floored me. about 2 acres of sloping lawn. no shrubs, trees. just this monstrous green space. why? must be retired with nothing better to do. the guy across the road from me spends an entire day lawn tractoring his yard at a top speed of .000001 mile per hour, shakin’ his chute every couple feet. at least he doesn’t use poisons, its 99% weed. no one around here uses poisons – we are all on wells.

  4. Same here for me, on a well, can’t use chemicals or salt in winter.. or water wouldn’t be fit. I have my lovely field of dandelions.. which I mow down every two weeks, G.I Joe style….whacking weeds all over the place. I can make dandelion wine to help me forget the pain I cause them.

  5. my g/f is kind of lawn obsessed. she has the front she tends to on hands and knees. she digs out each weed with a bowie-type knife thing. then we burn the buggers out back. and I use the ash in compost.

I found a wonderful way to kill those big spready dark green bastards that turn into thistles. I have a shark steam thing with a jet attachment. plain old water and I can shrivel them up in seconds. plus its sort of soul satisfying. sometimes I name them as I approach with my ghost busters apparatus on my back.

  6. There’s this thing called rain we have had shitloads of, OP, alternating with ‘sun’. I know it’s a strange concept for you, but this makes plants green.

  7. there is green as in weeds, and there is green as in grass. and speaking as a yard toiler, rain and sun alone do not make lawn grass grow happily into lush lawns.

I imagine grass lawns were what Jehovah was musing about when he thundered out ‘by the sweat of thy brows’

give the poster the respect of realizing that he/she does know the difference between a field of au naturel weeds and Monsanto enhanced barely recognizable as a plant, grass.

  8. Here we go again with “companies are trying to kill you”. Here’s a tip for you. It is very bad for companies to kill their customers because they can’t make money from dead customers (unless you’re a funeral home).

ZzZ, you know he croaked. Or maybe the Greys abducted him. We’re not sure but it is possible if they made a clone of him. I heard that they do this on a regular basis. Some guy from Area 52 (the REAL secret base) said that. I didn’t hear it personally but based on what I read on the internet I can assume that it is real.

  9. A good looking lawn doesn’t necessarily mean poison. Proper lawn care can produce a beautiful lawn. Just because someone takes good care of their property, doesn’t mean they’re using chemicals. I know a bit about plant care because i care about plants.

  10. A weed-free lawn is not necessarily a healthy lawn. Some pests like wireworm for example cannot take a foothold if certain weeds are nearby. Some plants have adapted to grow near other plants because of their toxicity to pests. Gives them a reproductive edge.
Have a homogenous lawn however and those pests will have a free for all with nothing to stop them except expensive and toxic and possibly illegal pesticides.

  11. “I know a bit about plant care because i care about plants.”

I bet you do… they can be quite the ‘cash crop’.

  12. Up next, the chemtrail fanatics………then the ‘inside job’ crazies…… must be that time of year again

  13. My towels are teddybear soft and my Jolly Green Giant grass compliments my garden. The carcinogens used to keep it so lush are meant for the children next door. My garden attracts many butterflies, bees and birds. The cat loves the birds. I have a daily carcass search through the lawn and garden.
