You had a good profile, decent enough picture, and our emails back and forth made me want to meet you. Oh God, what a mistake. Now I know why people complain about online dating. We agreed to meet at a coffee shop on Friday afternoon after your classes. You were 15 minutes late and said it was because you had to take a bus from campus… heck, it’s only a 10 minute walk. Seeing you at first walk through the door and up the stairs, I though, oh I hope it’s not him. But when you came up and said hi, I nearly dropped dead. This was not love at first sight. The first question on my mind was “How’d you go bald so fast?” In your picture you had hair on your head and were clean shaven. In reality, you had a significant amount of extra fleshy parts, were bald, and had a huge goatee. Is there a way to turn your head upside down… at least then you’d have hair on top. You proceeded to go on about how the bus was late, your profs suck, you’re hungry and want to grab a pizza, and kept nagging me to go eat with you. I’m sorry, but you lost me the minute you walked in and didn’t look like your picture. You’re not fooling anyone with that act. Try being honest, having a better attitude, and walking (it’ll help with that extra flesh). Yeah I might be a little superficial, but at least my picture is recent and legit. Good luck to the chick that gets stuck with you. —Prettified

  1. I’d rather have a pack of wolverines feast on my large intestine than on-line date. There’s just too many fucking liars out there.

  2. The funny thing is, if he was drop dead gorgeous you wouldn’t have had a problem with any of this:

“You proceeded to go on about how the bus was late, your profs suck, you’re hungry and want to grab a pizza, and kept nagging me to go eat with you.”

Face it, OP, he was a nice enough guy, you’re allowed to just bitch about his looks instead of trying to legitimize your superficiality by making ‘explaining why he was late, telling you about his classes, being hungry, and asking you if you’d like to go get some pizza’ into some horrible thing.

If you’re going to be superficial at least be honest about it.

Someone posting a dishonest picture on an online dating site is enough to be pissed about by itself. It puts the person meeting you in an awkward situation and manipulates them into feeling guilty for being superficial when that shit is actually your fault. Not cool.

  3. Lolz, my cousin has been after me to re-activate my account, I’m still stalling 😉

TTFN (hanging head in shame),I did a couple of those date sites, 8 months and met 1 woman that I was intersted in, we lasted 4 months.

Fook, I’m meeting more people walking on the beach.

  4. I agree with Snoop…you can be totally superficial here because he mislead you. And you exchanged a few emails so it’s not like you fell in love with his personality…you just decided to meet him. But I do understand where you’re coming from with the late, prof’s, and pizza…I hate complainers and whiners (although I can be one at times…lol). But online dating accounts for 25% of today’s marriages…so don’t be discouraged because one idiot.

  5. On-line dating is a crap shoot and the odds you will find the ‘perfect match’ are pretty slim. I realize it’s an option to hanging out in bars et al and some of these relationships actually do work. But the buildup to the date, then finding out that person was bullshitting me would make me want to impale him on Joe Howe’s outstretched stone hand.

  6. I have a friend who is currently dating a girl he met almost a year ago online…and I have to say they are perfect for each other. But I could never ever ever do it.

  7. He took the bus because he couldn’t walk 10 minutes and now wants to wolf down a pizza? Suggest sushi or a healthier alternative next time.

  8. If a dude/dudette doesn’t look as pictured, they’re fair game for a LTWWB, superficial as it is or not.

  9. so donkster, you like sweet not salty^^there be talk of raw fish and burritos in the love

  10. Hey Painey – your BFF is certain that some early 90s band used the line “ugly bags of mostly water” in a song. Does it ring any bells?

  11. ..i just got a I’m Interested on FB from a 75 yr/old from Algeria… that sounds promising I must say 🙂

  12. Pretty sure that’s where it originated but she’s convinced that some band *sampled* it for a song. She’s driving herself nuts trying to remember; which means she’s driving me nuts trying to remember. >: (

  13. I thought this was going to be about Ugg boots from the title. Thanks for getting my hopes up. Oh, and don’t be mistaken, I actually like Uggs for some strange reason.

  14. oh my, the fish place strikes out again. maybe you should have checked out fuckbook. there at least people are real, aren’t they?
they keep sending me mails telling me how so and so wants to get laid.i went to check out what the fuck it was all anbout and then they try to hook you into signing up and paying a fee.
then when you do, i guess you can talk to all these beautiful females or whatever. yeah, fucking right. years ago, i knew a sex line worker, and llet me tell you, she was no where near, what she would tell her clients, that she appeared to be to them. at the time, she was 40 plus, married, and way not so sexy. met her by accident one day, and chatted at hortons place, i needed another quarter, and didn’t have it on me.

  15. Hi everyone 🙂 martym told me to come and say hi. I have been kind of avoiding the bitch board because I have been dealing with a whiner-complainer in RL and some of the bitches remind me of that.

Anyways, I think that if OP were drop-dead gorgeous herself, the ugg guy wouldn’t have wanted to eat a pizza; he would have wanted to eat OP instead.

  16. Just don’t answer messages from seemingly pretty chicks who live “4 kilometers from Halifax” who end up actually being from a remote town in south central Russia. They believe that after a week and a half of emailing they “don’t look at any other guys in their town the same and can see themselves living together with you”. BAHAHA… *sigh*

  17. G’day newt! Nice to hear from you again. Ignore the whiners and just enjoy the giggles on the bitch page. hope all is well.

  18. this reminds me of that blind date scene in How High….

“Aww, HELL NO. What is that?
    it’s the Mark of Buddha.
It’s the skid mark of buddha! it looks like he took a dump in the middle of your face! I don’t think this is going to work out….”

  19. Meh. I’ve tried online dating, but I come across just as abrasive on the internet as I do in real life.

Seriously, I have had a few good and a few bad experiences. As I’m bisexual it should be noted that my on-line dates with women were much better in general than my on-line dates with men. Not sure if anything can be extrapolated from that fucking fact.

  20. Online dating can work. I’ve met my GF online and we’ve been living together for over 2 years now. As with many things in life, you get what you pay for: the free “fishy” website was terrible, the one with the subscription fee gave results. Still cheaper than to go out in clubs every weekend where the noise level is too high to have a conversation anyway.

  21. Set your expectations REALLY HIGH based on the ONLINE catalogue of what is mostly…. misre-presentation, liars, narcissists, introverts and people with too much personal drama to be healthy enough to date and there you have it the recipe for failure and disappointment. Another point we tend to attract the things we need to work on in ourselves. You know that fuckery called Law of Attraction. You project the shit out to other people that perhaps you need to be working on personally. Just some thoughts.

  22. Ah yes the perils of the dating sites, I know them a little bit which is knowing them too well. So far no luck for me either. Good old “plenty offish” and “Lava(tory) Life”.

  23. Not much of a drama, I just prefer to hear constructive criticism over just whining about everything. I also prefer hearing bitchers come up with hilarious comebacks to whining 🙂

  24. any one else ever try just, doing what they enjoy doing, a hobby, or exercising, walking on the beech, the park, a pub, swimming , walking the dog, the local crack house…whatever floats your boat !…you never know, you just might meet someone who is interested in the same thing you are & You as well !

  25. I’ll never understand why if someone doesn’t think someone else is attractive that makes them “superficial” Who the fuck wants to hook up with someone they’re not attracted to?

  26. If you were blind, would you date them?
yes –> you’re superficial and are throwing away a lot of potential candidates right from the start. Completely your decision but g’luck being happy, you’ll need it.
