I wanted to send some love out to the girl who wrote me on a dating site with a very lovely compliment. You told me you never ever write girls but came across my profile and said I have the most fantastic face of life, that you were jealous and thought you would pay me a compliment. You have no idea how much that brightened my day. I have been pretty sad lately with a bad breakup where I was left feeling “not good enough”. You really helped cheer me up. I wanted to reply but it said you closed your account. I wanted to repay the compliment, because I think you are pretty fantastic yourself, and quite a beauty! Note: I am not listed as looking for females on that site so I’m not quite sure where you came from, but THANK YOU! Much Love! —Band-Aid’d Heart

Now if a guy wrote that would your feelings be the same?
Yes 🙂 but for some reason, when a female compliments it feels like there is more meaning behind it. Which is a shame, I’m sure there are a lot of compliments men give women that are 100% truthful. Unfortunately there are some guys who compliment with the wrong motives! But, still nice to receive compliments anytime 🙂
SShine, you have a very nice colon.
(your percent sign is bang on too…)
It seems more genuine because women can be huge bitches when it comes to other women so I think subconsciously we’re all competing with one another and when one gives you (as a female) a compliment you’re like “whoa.” Even if it is on a subconscious level.
That and you DO know it’s genuine because, as sshine says, there’s generally no alterior motives (read: sexual motives) behind it (generally because the lesbian/bi population is not really in the majority considering the entire female population).
Exactly PK.. 🙂
🙂
I met this guy a couple months ago when I went out for drinks with some girlfriends. This guy met a couple of us when we went up to the bar by ourselves to get drinks. I went up three times and all three times he sought me out and by the third time he asked me if I wanted to “go somewhere.” I was just being polite talking to him in the first place so I was all “uhhh no thanks.” Upon further discussion with my ladies, we find out he used the same lines on all of us. When the other three wouldn’t pay attention to him he decided he’d target me for the “pick up” because I’m friendly and I’ll talk to anyone if they talk to me first.
I mean, if your compliment was sincere and there was no alterior motive, why would you give the exact same compliment to at least four women in the same night? heh.
And when I give another female a compliment, I usually mean it. I don’t bother flattering people for the fuck of it. Too much effort and no point. Usually I’ll compliment them on something they’re wearing or their bag or something so I can find out where they got it. I find that’s usually the same thing with other ladies when they’ve complimented me. I get compliments on my various lululemon bags all the time, although more than a few times other ladies have complimented me on my eyes. 🙂

who said it was sincere?
if the dregs of TV have taught these douches anything, it’s to go in with a gameplan….

That was the point — it WASN’T sincere. Because he gave all of us the same compliment. And we all look pretty damn different.
The motive was to get some ass that night. I’m pretty sure though, his gameplan could use some work cause if he knew what he was doing he would’ve done some research and not attempted to fuck girls who knew each other. The only ass he got that night was his own.
