On my daily walk to work there is a four way intersection downtown I have to cross where there are no crosswalks near by. I’m crossing from corner to corner, just hear me out even if there isn’t a rule about letting me cross take your head out of your exhaust pipe and let me cross! Please. —The Chick

There may not be a marked crosswalk, but all intersections have a crosswalk.. so there is a rule about letting you cross (but most drivers seem to ignore this).
Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long, as someone that knows the rules of the road will eventually come and stop.

As Naveed said, the crosswalk is implied at the corner. Call the police and see if they can ticket folks there who aren’t obeying. It would have the same affect that speed traps do.
this could be an opportunity for an excellent prank when Halloween rolls around.

Isn’t there a joke here about Why the Chick crossed the road……..
rules state that you should extend your hand and arm out, even if crossing in a crosswalk area. i have never had a problem crossing any street in n.s. this way. it is usually the rule of the land, that if you SEE someone about to cross, then you let them, if it can be done safely.
Why don’t you just cross at a crosswalk before you get to your destination? Surely you passed by a couple before you ended up stranded on the other side of the street looking at the door to your place of business. I’m not sure I understand this bitch, we’re in a city with a crosswalk or implied crosswalk every 10 steps in any direction. I find it difficult to understand how you would be left to jaywalk across a busy street.
OB. Do you mean, straight across, or diagonally?
Doing the kitty-corner cross is a no-no at a 4-way.
