To the lady that I work with, please stop following me around the workplace (or otherwise)! You’re a nice lady, I understand that since your husband is away you are lonely, but you’re totally bumming me out!! I get that you’re having a hard time with money and health issues, and I will sympathize with you, but I can only do it so much. We all have problems and believe it or not, I’m not that concerned about yours.

And no, I don’t want to hang out with you outside work. We have absolutely nothing in common except that we work at the same place… so stop looking at me strange when I make excuses not to hang out with you outside work.

If only I could be more direct and tell you flat out… but I really don’t want to hurt your feelings. —Leave Me Alone Already

  1. Euch… this is always a tough one. Just try not to engage them OP, but be polite, but firm. They should get the hint eventually.

  2. OP, you insensitive poor excuse of a human being. I was trying to get an increase in salary, and working hard for you for the past 10 years isn’t getting me anywhere so I thought I would switch up the strategy a bit.

signed – dont sympathize with me, give me money

  3. the suckster sees all, and tries to please some. pick a time. thanks tim, but my book is rather full just now.

  4. Thank fuck I don’t work with other women. The needy ones would have their thumbs shoved in an electric pencil sharpener.

  5. Its hard to be nice and be honest without hurting someone. I got nothing for ya OP …but I’d like to know the answer for myself.

  6. NP Naveed! (OLP Fan?) I had the same thing, at first I couldn’t stand this woman but we get along pretty good now. It’s just all about setting and enforcing boundaries, without being TOO much of a dick about it. You could always go to HR but I wouldn’t advise it unless it’s as a last resort.
