Last week, there was an excellent bitch posted about the wish for buses to Rainbow Haven beach. It was one of a small few bitches that was almost universally agreed upon. This is all great and good.

Monday, I flip through that other free paper and find a story about the lack of buses to Rainbow Haven. WTF! I know your writing is dumbed down to the point that even the illiterate understand it, but when you’re stealing ideas from LTWWB, I think it might be time to pack it in. Originality, give it a try sometime you staff of that toilet paper substitute you call a paper.

  1. ok someone needs to do some googling (ask homie, he’ll show you how) ;):first: plagerism is directly stealing someone’s work, word for word, verbatim. so unless they picked and grabbed fromt he actual thread, they just borrowed and idea.which is sort of how the media works. where do you think reporters get ideas from? they’re not magical creatures who divinely know what’s going on and what should be written about! sometimes they get notifications, press releases, or people coming in with ideas- but a lot of the time it’s a case of looking at what the other people are doing and borrowing ideas. whether they localize them or not (i.e someone in Halifax borrowing an idea they saw in the globe or on google news), it’s part of the pick and grab that is journalism. and they don’t just check out papers- they listen to the radio, watch tv, evesdrop in coffee shops and yes, even read message boards like this that actually give a good idea of what people in the community care about and how. no one is actually original- every idea has been done before, particularly in the daily newspaper game. so give it up- those peopel work hard, with not enough pay and not enough time; be pleased a bitch made it from cyber space to the page and be done with it.

  2. I agree with Hedgy. While probably next to no one read it in here, now a hell of a lot more read it and someone may actually DO something about it. The OP of that LTWWB may be happy it ended up there and may have something done about it, and may actually get their bus to Rainbow Haven.

  3. I agree it’s not a very good paper, but, a “beach bus” isn’t exactly a brand new idea.

  4. let’s just say I have an appreciated for the plight of the common journalist……
