  1. So, there were small children and other dogs running around, and like the owner said, nobody got hurt. The guy was using sarcasm to point out your misguided stereotyping, but apparently you’re too dim to get it.

  2. PTSD after being bitten by an uncontrolled dog is a real thing.

EVERY unleashed dog is a fear inducing potential threat to people who have been bitten.

Dog owners are unable to determine which people in the population are the terrified ones who have been bitten by a dog.

The onus is on the dog owner to control their animal at ALL times.

The general population has a reasonable expectation to be protected from unleashed animals in any non off leash area that dog owners MUST respect.

  3. Pretty sure it’s not PTSD that one might suffer from a dog bite; that is an exaggeration that diminishes the experiences of people who really suffer from PTSD, like soldiers or people who experienced trauma that was long-lasting or very severe.

  4. Good god man, think about what you are saying. You are saying that a non-soldier that suffers from PTSD diminishes the experience of soldiers with PTSD.

  5. GV: thinking does not appear to be one of some people’s strong points. No worries. Not everyone is equally equipped for the task.

  6. Last fall two young women had an off-leash pitbull, “Ehore”, at the kids playground at the Dingle. The dog was running around right under the sign that said “No Dogs”. They were telling everyone, “It’s OK, he’s friendly”. However every time a kid started running around the equipment they would say, “Don’t run, it makes him nervous”! If they had needed to bring the animal under control there would be no way they could do it- they were both petite and had no leash anywhere to be seen.

There is nothing less common than common sense!

  7. I was walking to the corner store yesterday and cut through a park/playground. There were two young girls of about 15 years old or so with a pit bull off leash with no leash in sight and I knew as soon as I saw the dog that they probably would not have total control over the dog. Not only were they not paying attention to the dog or if anyone was coming they did not see their dog come at me and jump on me. When they did notice what was happening they said the dog was friendly. SO FUCKING WHAT! What if I am terrified of dogs let alone a pit bull who jumps on me? The world is slowly being taken over by inconsiderate, self-centered, egotistical, no common sense empty headed arseholes who think the world revolves around them.

  8. Ah…and my favourite from the pit bull owners….’other dogs bite more often’…yes, I’ve been bitten by a dog, years ago and it wasn’t a pit bull. It bit my calf then the owner pulled it off. I survived, no scar. How many people attacked by pit bulls can walk away scar-free? Or even alive? The issue isn’t the statistics of dog bites, it’s the statistics of dog ‘kills’; and pit bulls take the cake.
