I love walking through Cyril Smith Golden Acres Park with our kid. What I don’t like is the stupid person who leaves their dog’s shit on the boardwalk. Twice this past week (different locations) and once the week before. WTF. Now it’s all over my kids new boots because he is too young to know to look out for poop…and the first time I said that…he tried to pick it up!

yes o.p., that pisses me off too. when you have small ones playing, and one falls on this pile of shit.i saw this happen a few times in the past. if it was my kid, and i KNEW who left it there, well bub, you would be eating said shit.

Why is picking up after their dog so bloody difficult for people? Take a couple of plastic bags, pick up the crap, tie it up, toss it (in a garbage can) near the end of the walk. I mean, they’re walking the dog so they’re not totally lazy. Are they too delicate? Mind-boggling.
What pisses me off to no end is when you come across the bag of shit just lying in the middle of the sidewalk or on the side of a trail. Like seriously?? You take the time and effort to poop and scoop, even using specially made poop baggies, tie it off at the top and then just leave it?? Jesus Christ. How lazy can you get? You’re better off leaving the turds where they lie if you’re going to do that. At least it will eventually decompose without being hermetically sealed in a plastic bag. I hate people sometimes. I really do.
There’s always going to be those lazy dog owners or walkers who dont pick up aftet their pets. lazy bums. I’ve lived beside this park my entire life and for it being in the north end Dartmouth I will say it is well maintained. I loved that park when I was a kid
o yeah them and their dogs. So cute. NOT! Pick up the shit your dog lets go or get rid of the mut. No sense of responsibility. then you get home and see shit on the bottom of your shoe. uggghghghghghg
the bags you see lying by the trail/walkway/sometime tied to tree branches are probably meant to be picked up on the way ‘back’, but person took a different route back and forgot. it’s happened to me, and then i had to go back, retrace my steps and retrieve the bag. prob not what some people would do, but it happens. i do not bag in ‘wild’ areas. both dogs go off trail to do their business, they eat well, and their poop disappears in 24-48 hours. feeds the slugs.
i think when you see poop in the middle of the walkway/trail the dog may have been leashed. no choice but to poop where he walks. or those dogs that are tied to a person riding a bicycle, they have to run and poop at the same time. i have seen people tugging at the dog’s leash while he tries to have a pooh.
That bothers me to see someone walking their dog, but they don’t stop to allow the dog to do his busyness.I have a feeling, most(MM?) of us wouldn’t want to be tugged along by our necks, while we’re trying to relieve ourselves.I wouldn’t like it one bit; I always felt badly when I realized why my dog stopped walking inorder to relieve himself.
me too boru. i don’t like to see dogs tugged along, not allowed to sniff or mark. it’s so important to them. or walked on salted sidewalks, hot asphalt. they are so dependant on us and what we give them. they need physical and mental stimulation. anyway, don’t get me going on this. hahaha. i am a broken record.
you really miss your doggie, if you need hugs and kisses, they could always use dog walkers at the shelter. it’s hard to love them and walk away, but it’s for their sake so you have to be strong enough to do it. there aren’t enough people out there like you, who would love them up.
There’s this one bitch on my walk to the bus stop in the morning who lets her dog out on the front lawn f her building and then proceeds to tug and jerk the collar meanwhile berating the dog to ‘cmon and go poop’…tug tug, shake shake…

I mean, I know you don’t like to be out in damp or colder weather, but how’d you like it if you were trying to shit and someone was constantly shaking you by your necklace?

^^ would click 10,000 likes on that one zzz. it enrages me to see that and not be able to do anything about it. they are ‘property’ . i have tried different approaches, humorous, calm, an eyebrow, empathy even (faked, maybe it was apparent) to interrupt such behaviour and nothing works. that’s the impotency of it. i can’t find anything that works. i think the world is divided into two categories on this (amongst many others) those who believe animals are more than dumb brutes, and those who don’t. there’s a huge range within each group, but i believe it’s basically two sides.
