I was asked while recently walking into a shoppers if I wanted to purchase and fragrance. I was surprised people still bought fragrance.
It is my understanding that some people have an allergic reaction to scents, that’s why they’re prohibited in most workplaces. Now, I have DEFINITELY seen people take advantage of this policy to get out of work but I have also DEFINITELY seen people having a legitimate irritation because somebody wore a scent. Even if only 1/10 people who say they are effected actually are, that’s enough to prohibit the use in the work place. Why should this person have to miss a days pay because somebody else chose not to follow the policy?
Would you rather smell someone who wouldn’t know what a bar of soap was or what it’s really meant to be used for, or smell someone who just happens to smell overly nice?
I’ll take the latter.
Soap, water, deodorant. That’s all you need. If you’re not doing any sweating you don’t really need deodorant. Cologne and Perfume are for assholes. The scent free people gotta have a little leniency towards deodorant though.
When I was a kid day people smoked everywhere, I got dirty playing outside a lot, got sun burns, swam in the lake/ocean, walked/biked everywhere. There was one poor unfortunate soul in my school who had “allergies” who was allergic to everything. Now it seems everyone who is “healthy” has all kinds of sensitivities to everything around them. The only thing Im allergic to are these whiners who complain about everything and everyone around them with all kinds of weird new ailments to boot. I thought it was supposed to be survival of the fittest, not survival of the sickest!
Maybe those people are trying to stay single. That stuff works great at keeping people away from you cause you stink so bad haha. You may think you smell good. You don’t, you stink and cause allergic reactions for some or give ones like myself headaches from your stink. I rather smell body order than that crap.
Perfumes are fine if people use them very, very sparingly so that you only smell them when you stand very close to them. The problem is that some people douse themselves in it and it’s like a smack in the face.
On the other hand, the other day I was stuck sitting next to a guy whose armpit odour can best be described as “pungent”. At worst it could be described as nauseating. He looked clean otherwise so he definitely could have just used a bit of deodorant.
I’d like to flick a lit match at them and watch them go up in flames.
