To people who are too lazy too remove trailer hitches: do you not realize that that a bumper on a car or truck is designed to absorb impact if your vehicle is hit form behind . Also it makes it easier for a person not to get their bumper all smashed to pieces if they hit getting out of a parking spot.
If you are not using the hitch and its removable – remove it and put in the trunk. —Someone whose bumper got smashed by a lazy driver backing into it with their stucked out hitch

I thought it was illegal to have a hitch unless you’re towing…it only takes a couple minutes to remove…some people…
Do you realize that if you hit that vehicle with the trailer hitch in front of you, YOU’RE 100% at fault for driving too close to the vehicle in front of you.
I knew a girl in uni who was particularly gifted at the art of removing trailer hitches, or at least, the chrome part…>; )

That’s why I leave it in, for morons like you OP, who think it’s ok to use my bumper as a means of judging distance. Yes, they’re supposed to absorb impact, but that doesn’t mean I want that theory tested. Scratch the chrome, rust sets in, smash a back up sensor, a few hundred bucks, nothing to you , but I gotta pay for that shit eventually. Spend a few minutes backing up to a wall and judging distance and overhangs of your car. I’m not paying for your incompetence.
i know people who think bumpers on cars are okay to hit when parallel parking…their reasoning, well they absorb the impact. that’s what the fair is for with the bumper cars. sad
