I would like to remind drivers that crosswalks do not have to be marked to be a crosswalk. Most intersections are crosswalks, whether or not there are lines.
To those who refuse to stop on the Herring Cove Road between Dentith and Drysdale, let me remind you that construction has closed the bus stop and the crosswalk nearest Sussex. Five of you would not allow me to cross, speeding up to pass me.
Read your Drivers Manual if you don’t agree: Chapter 2 page 42 and I quote:
Unmarked crosswalks
Every intersection has a
crosswalk. Many are unmarked.
Drivers must yield to pedestrians
at all intersections, whether
crosswalks are marked or
unmarked. —Pissed pede.

Are you sure that’s page 42?
What will they bitch about next, those angry little plebs?
But I dunno, Halifax drivers are more courteous in general I think, it’s a good thing. Not always though
Yes, the whole world’s your crosswalk and everyone has to make a panic stop to let you cross as to not inconvenience you for any longer than a second. Let’s clarify, shall we… you have the “right of way”, if it is safe to cross not the “right” to walk I to traffic and not get hit.
drivers should be aware of pedestrians wanting to cross and stop for them when it’s safe to. everyone needs to play a part in their own and others safety, but it’s ultimately the drivers who hold the responsibility
OB thinks if s/he is at a crosswalk, cars must come to an immediate stop to allow him / her pass…
Supposed to make eye contact and wait until both parties are sure that its safe to proceed, its not a “freely walk into traffic because your an entitled pedestrian” crossing.
