It’s been a few weeks now that the parking lots near Spring Garden Road (Clyde St parking lots) have changed management. The guys working there have been replaced by automated terminals (which sucks, but that would be for another day discussion). I am now wondering if every NS dumb driver has decided to go park there, is there a Canada’s Worst Driver audition going on??
How difficult is it to understand that once you get your ticket on entry, go for your shopping and get back to your car, YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE TIME SPENT THERE FIRST, before going and parking your cars in front of the DAMN GATE.
Everyday, there is a lineup of at least 4 or 5 empty cars in front of the gate, with drivers lining up to pay for the parking!!! This makes the regular people who get how it works, not being able to vacate or even enter the lot!!
How hard is it to get it that all you have to do, is that when you’re returning to your car, stop at the machine, pay, then go to your car and leave… pretty much how it’s done in every parking lot, isn’t it ?
I have never seen this in my life. Thanks to all of this mayhem caused by these worse than bad drivers, there have been more accidents on these lots in 2 weeks than in the past 3 years!!!
Not that any of this is sometimes hilarious to watch, but most of the time, after a long day at work, my fuse is pretty short with these dumb asses.
BTW : All the necessary signage explaining how to do is in place!! The place is literally covered with sheets : “do this”, “do that”… Come to think about it, I’m starting to be concerned how dumb these people are and are allowed to drive… —OZZY

o.p., you can lead a horse to water, but can’t make it drink. same goes for some drivers, you can lead them to a spot, but can;t make them think.
Ivan – British Culture, surely an oxymoron with me playing the moron piece in the Punch and Judy show.
I suggested some time ago that parking lots should all be linked to your bridge pass transponder, then I realized this is Halifax and no good idea gets past the 23 soon to be 16 dickasoruses.
People don’t read signs OP. They pull their ticket when they arrive and try to pay from their car on their way out.
Does this mean parking isn’t free on sat and sun anymore?
I used this parking lot on our summit weekend. It was the same shit show then too. I was standing in line, waiting to pay for my parking stub and there was this lady in front of me trying, (and failing) to pay for her parking. After about 5 minutes of waiting, I tried to see what the problem was. She couldn’t figure out where to put her $4 in toonies and despite the LARGE BOLD lettered note taped to the machine that said “BILLS ONLY. DON’T PUT CHANGE HERE, there were her two toonies sitting in the paper bill slot. And she couldn’t for the life of her figure out why the machine wasn’t taking her money. Ummmm, helloooooo? McFlyyyyyy! So, I bit my tongue and politely pointed to the note and showed her where the coin slot was. There were also people doing what the OB was talking about and drving up to the gate, parking and trying to pay thus blocking the exit. And it’s not like this is a new type of machine. If anything, I’d say it’s probably one of the easier ones to figure out. Plus with all the directions posted all over the place, it’s a no brainer. People just don’t read. To steal a term from Mel, Oblivitrons.
it’s free at the meters shitd, don’t know about the lots
