Hey administration thanks for banning us from parking in the parking lot as of monday. There is always enough room for all of us to park and you just can’t leave well enough alone. My parents pay taxes so you can park your damn vehicles their so why shouldn’t I be able to park there? I never have seen every parking spot taken up in that lot.

What parking lot?
Yes that was what I was wondering too…
Citadel High
I know! Let’s all pay taxes to build parking for the parents of students to enjoy free downtown parking…. I’m sure no one would take advantage of the system like that. Walk to school, take your bike, or if you must, take a bus. If you are not able to do any of that, there are parking spots for you. They have special markings for those in need of barrier free access.
You may want to re-read the bitch Jeff. The person said that their parents pay taxes, so obviously this person is a student! When I went to QEH students were allowed to park there. That is if you were there early enough that you could find a spot that wasn’t taken by a teacher, another student or a QEII employee!
I pay taxes and bike to work, and don’t have any kids. Can I have some of my tax money back? Thanks in advance.
I know you used to be able to park at QEH for 60 dollars a year. Citadel always seems to have extra spots anytime of the day and there is never a spot on Ahern St It’s starting to get too cold to bike to school which I did until last week when my car was repaired. I wish I could walk but it takes forever like 25 mins with a heavy backpack and heavy clothes . I always walked to QEH when I went there save for that week of -30 temperatures last year. I don’t take the bus because that would just be a waste of time
Are you kidding me? You can’t be bothered to walk to school because it takes “forever”? When I was in high school it took me 20-30 minutes to walk to school, but unlike you I didn’t have the luxury of a car to drive, so I was walking regardless of what the weather was like. Suck it up and grow up.
When I went to QEH they had passes you had to put in your window or it would be towed…didn’t have much of a problem with the “new” hospital then…it was just being built back then! Wonder why they don’t do that now…
Sarah why don’t you go fuck your self. I went out and got my licence went to driving school ect two years ago and I want to take my god damn car to school. Don’t patronize me about 30 minute walks. I walked from Herring Cove all the way to Quinpool road in the summertime. At 1:00 am for that matter. Sorry if I drive suck it up bitch
ZacYou might want to have a dictionary handy, because I am not going to dumb this down for you.You are an insufferable, self-righteous, semi-literate, arrogant little prick. I can no longer endure your ill-informed, ill-written rantings without comment. You like to take a stance of moral superiority to people who drive big cars. At the same time, you are contemptuous of people who don’t drive cars at all. You insist on your right to drive your own car a relatively short distance, every day, into the downtown core where there is ample and adequate bus service. Half a dozen buses would drop you off on the doorstep of Citadel High. There is no excuse, other than sheer unmitigated laziness, for an able bodied person of any age to drive a car into the downtown core on a weekday, particularly if that person is given to ranting about the evils of other people’s polluting vehicles. I am not an advocate of SUV’s, but are you aware of the fact that even large vehicles manufactured in the last few years are far more fuel efficient than small vehicles manufactured 10 years ago? How old is your car, Zac? I am going to hazard a guess that it is not a 2008 model. So unless you are regularly transporting three of your buddies who would otherwise be driving their own cars, you are just as guilty of wasteful burning of fossil fuel as the SUV drivers you routinely vilify. You’re clearly very attached to your car. I’m sure it gives you a certain enhanced status in the high school pecking order, since not that many teenage boys have their own cars. And in that you are No Different from the suburbanites who buy ever larger and more prestigious vehicles for no other reason than the status they convey. You are No Different from the suit clad executives who are Too Important to take public transit. The only difference is that it takes far less to impress Your peers. You are a hypocrit, boy. I am sick unto death of reading about your car, your god given right to drive it whenever and wherever you want, and the unconcionable effrontery of anyone, pedestrian, cyclist, or other motorist, who has the gall to get in your way. For the love of all the gods, Shut Up.Or at the very least, work at aquiring a marginally better command of the English language. Your maunderings would be far more credible, and far less annoying, if every literate person on this board didn’t have to fight the urge to take a red pen to them.
I can’t wait to move out of this stupid hell hole. No I did not buy a 2008 model car I can’t afford a new car. People who buy a new suv can afford to buy a fucking car. I’m sick of your stupid bitching about “The English language” Sorry If I’m not going to shell out 8 bucks a day to take public transit. If I had the money I’d buy a Toyota Corolla. You probably think I’m some spoiled little south end kid with lots of money who goes out screaming and partying every night Well I’m not. Why the hell would business executives want to take mass transit? I never said people shouldn’t drive cars. and if you weren’t some stupid, store bought wannabe alternative piece of crap you’d know that things aren’t black and white. Its possibly to be an environmentally conscience driver. I drive a compact car which is regularly serviced. The extent of my daily driving is back and forth to school and driving my sister to Wal Mart. I bet you think she should take the bus at midnight to Quinpool too! Your gas mileage figures must have been pulled out of your ass as well. I people who have rusty civics getting 35-40 miles per gallon. My neighbor drives a 1985 Mercedes 300SD he can get 35 miles per gallon. I never said I hate cycling, which I have probably done many more bike km’s then you could ever think about. I’m a dumpster diver and a trash picker. Sorry if I don’t feel guilty about driving my 20 year old car to school. I have friends from all walks of life. I have many friends from public housing and I have friends who life in houses with 6 bedrooms and sauna rooms. So I hope you drop your holier than hell attitude. And my English I don’t really care. I never bitched about pedestrians except maybe the ones who run out in front of cars on purpose who probably deserve to be run over. I don’t approve of cyclist taking lanes designed for cars. If you want to drive in car lanes get an inspection, bike light and a rear light. and yes I know what hand signals are.
Wow, did you ever just prove ALL my points…
Really, though. So he takes his car to school instead of walking. Big deal!Don’t bitch at the poor kid just because you had to walk, Sarah..you sound pathetic. Sounds like you’re the could use your own advice: Grow the fuck up.
I’m so glad I’m not like you. One of those people who think they are some how better than everyone else because they take the bus or ride those heavenly bicycles. I can’t stand people like that. You seem like a complete snob. And they didn’t put any signs up yet thankfully. Guess what I’d rather drive than take a bus and I’m sure many people would agree with me on that one. I’m not going to beat my self up about this. I think I have done more charitable things and things for the environment then you have. Ever been dumpster diving or curb gleaning? I have since I was 10 years old. Slowly I worked my way up to having a new laptop, digital cameras, multiple laptops, desktops, stereos, pda’s which I fixed and sold on Kijji or HFX4Sale. So my way of contributing to the environment is selling or giving away things that would otherwise be in the landfill which cost taxpayers money. I bike in the summer more than I drive but I suppose I’m guilty of driving my massive gas guzzling compact car to Antigonish when I could take an bus. I think your nothing but a self serving person who probably has a crappy job flipping big macs and thinks too much of your self.
Hey ‘Coyote,’You are a complete fucking asshole. Juts out of curiosity, what compelled you to give yourself the username of ‘Coyote’? Its’ a name that really seems to sum up your personality quite well, a total cliche! You seem to fancy yourself something of an intellectual and moral god, but relax Mr Wannabe Mayor, this is only cyber space. If you’re such an authority on what’s right and wrong, why dont you publish a book? Fuck off!
Oops, my finger slipped and so I spelt ‘just’ as juts in my last comment; are you going to tell me I’m semi-literate? Furthermore, since you claim to have logged ‘thousands’ of hous commuting on your bike to and from work, one can assume you’re a grown up. So why the fuck dont you stop telling off 17-year old kids who atleast have an opinion on more than just sex and beer, you cowardly dickhead.
Coyote, Coyote, Coyote,Since when did Halifax become such a paternalistic, morally superior hell hole? There is nothing worse than a middle aged adult frothing at the mouth over a kid who just wants to park his car at school and judging everyone who isn’t as environmentally astute as you claim to be. I’d love to drive by your house and see what you’re doing- other than drive an expensive bike to work- to conserve energy. I assme you don’t use a drying machine, a coffee maker, gas to power your home… what about all the toxic materials it took to BUILD AND RUN your home- all the trees that were chopped down, all the pollutants in the paint, all the cotton to stuff your sofas and drape your bed. Zac drives a car- sure its not great but its his ONE contribution to a negative environment. You, Coyote are contributing in lots of ways! Sure, Zac will one day have a home of his own but maybe Zac will live close to his place of work and will be able to walk. Maybe Zac will live in a city that doesn’t have a pathetic, defunct transit system. Maybe Zac won’t enter into adulthood spewing the toxic hate that comes out of your mouth, Coyote. Leave Halifax Zac, the grass is greener on the other side and leave moralistic Coyote in Halifax to act as the city’s moral dictator. Coyote, you’re an asshole and I pitty your kids!
Yeah, maybe I was a little harsh. That kid annoys the hell out of me, but I overreacted. I’m big enough to admit when I’ve been an asshole.
However, I want to point out, for the record, that it’s not the fact that he drives his car to school that annoys me. It’s his hypocritical attitude that “people who drive everywhere are fat, lazy, useless bastards that need to get off their asses and stop polluting. Except me. I can drive all I want, because I worked hard to get my license and buy a car, and I’m entitled.” THAT makes my teeth ache. But like I said, I overreacted.
there you go again I never said I hated cars I don’t like SUV’s as most people do not use them for what they were intended for. I suppose I forgot to say I would rather walk. Cars are expensive to maintain. My car had been in the shop from late august to 3 weeks ago getting a new camshaft and rocker arms and a head gasket. During that time I took one of my two bicycles back and forth to school. It’s getting to cold and wet to bike back and forth to school. I use my bike when trash picking and if I find something too big to carry on my bike I use my car. I like biking. I keep right when biking because I know cars accelerate faster than me. I walk alot more than I drive as well. But damn its winter almost and I’m going to drive my warm little car to school. I don’t think of my self being better than anyone else at school and I still hang out with my friends which none of them drive their own cars. and I am maintaining my suv’s are pointless in the city stance. Same as people who drive big trucks and never haul anything its just pointless and a waste of gasoline which we are running out of. If your a construction worker or a plumber or something along those lines you need a truck. If your a office worker you don’t. Many of my family members drive trucks including my father who works construction. My uncles are lobster fisherman and drive old trucks for hauling lobster traps and wood and such. Like I said I would rather drive a nice fuel efficient newer toyota but I can’t afford one. I put a total of 5000 thousand km’s on my car this year. Barely even a oil change! I keep my old car in tuned properly and use the cleaner higher octane fuel and when e85 ethanol fuel available readily I would likely convert it if possible. Furthermore how am I contemptuous of people who do not drive. Because Sarah said a bitchy comment to me and I retorted I think bicycling is great and I am ALL for BIKE LANES. I have carried more things on a bicycle than you have. Remember those computers. Most of them were balanced on my bikes seat as I walked home. I use to use my friends wagon to transport heavier things like big laser printers and monitors. I put up with lots of rude comments from the stuck up preppy schools I went to because of this. I cannot even count the things I have found and fixed in the garbage. I was the only kid I knew who did this in my neighborhood anyways. People are amazed at the things I found in the trash. Dumpster diving I took up several years ago when I saw the Canadian tire people smashing up returned merchandise and I looked in the dumpster and found lots of xmas lights, electronics, a $500 electric fireplace with heater which was a demo, china, a red lawnmower with a excellent engine. In trash picking I found a brand new microwave that never left its box, It was an expensive one too lots of component stereos which were expensive, computers, laptops, fans, lots of great laser printers which I sold cheaply on kijji
Coyote, your annoyance with Zac seems petty and your apology insincere. Zac seems like a nice, intelligent and observant young guy; it’s really good to see someone his age who cares enough to concern himself with these issues. After making the statement that you are ‘big enough’ to admit when you’re been an asshole, why are you still picking on him??
All right, Zac. I am sorry for going off on you. I have clearly misinterpreted many of the comments you’ve made over the last several months. In my defence, you don’t always express yourself clearly. The above comment is an exception. You’ve clearly made an effort, and I commend that. NMH is right; you do appear to be more thoughtful and observant than a lot of young people. Keep expressing yourself as you have done here, and and that will be obvious to everyone. As for me, I have demonstrated myself to be a loose cannon – and not for the first time, either. I’ll try to keep a handle on that…
Heh heh. I just used the word “clearly” three times in one paragraph. So much for my writing skills…
Well coyote, I’m glad to see you feel Zac is now free to “keep expressing yourself as you have done here”. I’m sure he has really greatful to have your permission. This is a public forum and we all have that right, regradless if YOU like our opinions or not! You’re damn right you overreacted- “You are an insufferable, self-righteous, semi-literate, arrogant little prick. I can no longer endure your ill-informed, ill-written rantings without comment.” Part of being a kid is learning to negotiate what is right and wrong- sometimes that includes contradicting oneself. However, I don’t see that Zac has done that. Part of being an adult is accepting that kids are constantly learning and navigating the world in a way that makes sense to them. Your apology is WEAK! Nothing like a straight up Haligonian apoplogy with a shot of self-deprecation. So, you spelled a couple of words wrong… lets all have a jolly good laugh over how “human” Coyote is!Heh heh, you’re still as asshole- I’d like to see how fast you plan on BACK-PEDDLING out of this one!
Lynn, can you shut the fuck up already?thanks.
Haha, all hail to freedom of speeh in Halifax! So… I post a total of 2 threads on this site and I get told to shut the fuck up because I offend the godfather of cycling (and the dictator of this site). Gotta love how open minded you are. Assuming you, K. Bosski, are either Coyote himself or a friend of his, you (or your friend) can really dish it out but certainly can’t take it. You are pathetic!
Hmmm, on second thought, maybe I will shut up- this thread isn’t worth my time. I have better things to do that pick on kids and debate with ignorant, conservative hicks. Have fun, y’all!
I wasn’t going to make any further comment, but I just can’t resist!I’m the Dictator of the Coast? The Godfather of Cycling? Dude, I had no idea I had so much power! I better go start a religion…
Yep, i’m sure you do have better things to do with your time. Hit the refresh key again Lynn..you know you wanna.I’m sorry to dissapoint you, but you’re wrong in assuming that i am either Coyote, or a friend of his. You’ve failed Matlock miserably Lynn. I’m sure you can spend some quality time with him though, now that you’ve got better things to do with your time?If anyone is ‘overreacting’ here, it’s you. The guy appologized, yet you still yap on.Go get laid already, lady.
Hey K.Bossi, why didnt you tell Coyote to go out and ‘get laid’ after reading his overly-aggressive and arrogant, hollier-than-thou rant to Zac? did you even read it? Judging by your “go get laid, lady” comment, it seems like you have a little resentment towards women. Or maybe its because you’re the one who probably hasn’t been laid in a really long time?
I wonder if I broke a coast record for my bitch having the most comments. The school I think decided to not put up the signs and I have continued to park there. Personally I don’t give two fucks about Coyote really. I am happy to be able to park at my school and its been good and no I never take spots but rather park close to the curb like everyone else. I do see the fact that many of my teachers live in the suburbs and need to park their cars there as well. I am happy to be able to park there. and if anyone in the administration is reading this I thank you 🙂 I just thought it was unfair that a 55 year old school had sufficient parking for students and teachers but a 4 month old one did not? To me that doesn’t make much sense at all. But I suppose it was an afterthough
Coyote, don’t apologize. Lynn’s a sore winner and last time I checked, the point of the Bitch was… well… to bitch.
As far as the parking issue, don’t worry. They’ll probably bulldoze QEH and make ANOTHER giant parking lot, a la the old infirmary. If you pave it, they will pay 50 dollars a day to park there.
Probably- Nothing like being in the hospital with its lovely service and paying a fortune to park. I wonder why they make people pay to park there I mean its a hospital for christ sake. Couldn’t they just give people passes or something? I probally won’t end up driving the old car as its in my fathers name and after that little bumper incident he’s pretty pissed. So ultimately I’ll end up on my old bicycle in the cold. I think someday I’m going to move to sunny beautiful California. I’ve never been much for the cold. I’d rather use a/c then a furnace hahaha
