All these talks about being barred (ugh bad pun) from Palace and Dome, and still you beg to get in?
Shoot! what’s in there? The beer’s
got something different that you cannot get in the other pubs here? My first impression is there are so many pubs in Halifax, I don’t really care if one gets rude, I go to another.
I don’t need to be a patron to
a place I don’t like.
So why is the Palace or Dome so special?

The Palace is really great when you’re just looking for a little shameless sleeze on a Sat. night. Just when you get sick of all the posing & posturing at the “swankier” places and really just looking to grind with a hot guy (that you’d have to bring versus find there, obviously), the Palace is your best friend!Its the best place for people watching, getting sloshed, listening to top 40 and engaging in a little gritty fun!
hmm, that’s interesting, lynn.but once you’ve connected with someone there, you don’t have to stay around. PCWMtC may have a point there when sayingthere’s so many pubs to choose from.surely there’s more than 2 “not so swanky” pubs in this city?how do you know that the only hot guys who enjoy a grindare just to be found in those 2 places?the publicity about these 2 places are so bad,lots of us new arrivals have not even bothered to go therebecause ppl tell us to avoid these 2 places.

ah, ok.. bring your own.still, it’s not like you’re being treated very well there.i can understand if it’s like a restaurant that serves great meals and the service is passable, and you say, “oh well, the food’s great”.but this , all we hear is lots of trouble with bouncers vs drunk vs hooligans,etc.. you go to have a good time, but not to risk having a bottle smash over your head by a complete stranger, or being man-handled by an over-zealous bouncer. .not worth the risk.certainly don’t sound like a typical pub atmosphere .if you know what i mean 🙂
Ewww, the Palace!I was there one night years ago when a guy who was so drunk pooped his pants and then continued to drink until he was thrown out!
Nice. I have a friend who was kicked out of the palace for having one too many, and they refused to let her get her coat before leaving. She had to walk home in snow, without a coat. What the fuck is wrong with these places? Being a bouncer does not make you god. What it makes you is a fucking meathead with a huge ego on a power trip. Aw, you didn’t graduate from high school? I’m sorry that your life didn’t go anywhere, and the best thing you have now is playing tough guy at the shittiest bar in town. Really, you look cool at that front door with your little radio and tight shirt. Seriously. You’re my favorite.

Yet I too read that they’re really dumpy .Are they giving you a free hand? Or supplying you and your date a mattress or what? :PBanned for life?
