Why do people think they own the sidewalk? When you drive your car you keep to the right (in this country anyway). So why do people get in my path when I stay on the right side of the sidewalk? I don’t care who you are I will not yield to you when you are on the wrong side. If you think just because you are pushing a stroller I will move aside, guess again. Also to the people with the dog leash trip-line, reel that fuckin thing in! No one needs to have their dog running 20 feet ahead of them. —Keep To The Right

IF you don’t like the way I drive….stay off the damn sidewalks ~;)
this could all be solved, if they install moving sidewalks, like the 1951 mechanics illustrated books used to show. hell, we were sposed to have flying cars by 1965 and robot houses by 1970 or so.
where did we go wrong? was it because labour costs shot way the fuck up? or maybe, just maybe, we are living in an alternate universe, that got screwed out of everything.
or how’s about, live life, as if each day was your last. o.p., there are worse things in this world, than just a piece of fucking sidewalk, move a bit the other way, and things in this universe, will be okay.
yeah i get fucking pissed when like 5 shitty highschool kids are walking next to eachother and think i’m gonna walk into the mud to avoid them.
I like this bitch!
You know what? As much as I try to be polite, I stopped, years ago, moving to the side for people when I’m all alone. And depending what kind of mood I’m in, I’ll stand there until the other person actually walks around me.
heh.
i hate those dog leashes, they are very dangerous http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3118/325351…
Worst are the SMOPs….Slow Moving Obese People. Funnier though when they trip up on the curb and roll on down to the ground.
Mmmhm it’s not rocket science, simply proper sidewalk etiquette.
hehe i just re-read SMOPs. it made me giggle.
You know what?….stop your bitching about sidewalks.Try living in a small town with no sidewalks. You have a choice where I use to live…jump in a ditch or risk getting hit by a tractor…..lol.
our street has no sidewalks either…
baby mama’s pushing strollers up and down the right lane.
dangerous….
I don’t think you’re required to stay to the right on a sidewalk though.. just keep your wits about you while walking and don’t walk abreast when in a group. not very difficult…
and yes, I did say ‘abreast’ … heh heh….
boobs.
i see the old seb. is back. must have gotten laid yesterday? oh well, he can dream, right?
Question, zed: hypothetically, if an adorable little 29 year old female were, say, to move to your lovely ‘hood, what do you think the chances of said adorable little 29 year old female getting stabbed?
An hypothetical adorable little 29 year old female MAY or may not be looking for places to live where her parents don’t. This hypothetical female doesn’t want roommates, so her budget is limited to around $800/mo.
I also have a question about outlook for you: is it possible to have the application open twice at the same time as to have access to two email accounts simultaneously but in completely different windows?
This adorable female happens to have an apartment which will be going for rent in the next few days for that price exactly, I think… If you want to live in the north end. I’ve always felt safe in my hood though. But I’m tough and a wannabe hipster 😀 (*disclaimer*alas, I am not a hipster, I haven’t lived here nearly long enough)
LOL, that sounds pretty sweet, but the hypothetical female can’t afford to move until, hypothetically, July 🙁
I feel safe anywhere, really, but my sense of danger isn’t really the most reliable. I’m pretty fearless when it comes to being scared of my surroundings, much to my mother’s dismay, so I figure i’d do my research and find the stats on “being a lone, young female, living in fairview and getting stabbed.” Just as a precaution.
I have a friend who lives out there, and she’s actually not a fan. The bus does go really close to her place so she just has one not so scary road to walk down, but otherwise at night there’s a section that she isn’t comfortable walking through connecting her to Joe Howe. So it limits her accessibility to the city. Which is a total bummer… I’ve been so, so, so thankful that I’ve found a place downtown where I can walk pretty much anywhere (well within reason)…
“You know what? As much as I try to be polite, I stopped, years ago, moving to the side for people when I’m all alone. And depending what kind of mood I’m in, I’ll stand there until the other person actually walks around me. “
Dat ain’t kewl yo.
that has to be the power station place there in that back-road around dutch village n joe howe. It’s a perfect bottleneck shank spot…. not that I would know.
🙂
and the odds are about 90-10. them folks love their knives.
plenty of places around that area for your budget though.
just dress the part and no-one will fuck wit ya

screw that… get these and you can run that area

I should just stay on Parkland, shouldn’t I? 🙁
I may be the deputy mayor of miseryville these days (zed, being the mayor heh), but I don’t wanna get stabbed and die 🙁 I have kitties to look after!!!
SERIOUSLY THOUGH: about that outlook question… 😉
I know you can definitely find a place in the South End for < $800/month, if you don't mind drunken university students (which I've never really had a problem with personally).
I would advise against living in or near Fairview. I live there now and make it a point not to go out after dark since I don’t have a car… Plus the buses suck on the weekend (the only one during the weekend is the 52 and I’m sure everything knows how reliable it is).. I say stick to Parkland or go up to Camelot Lane/Knightridge/Langbrae. They have good size apartments (some two story units) at reasonable prices.
Hmm… another consideration I have too is, I’ll probably have to get a car if all goes according to plan in the next month… so I might be more flexible in my location options because I won’t have to rely on the 52 to get to work (which is the only bus that goes up there), so south end MIGHT just work 😀 LOL
PK, in the south end, the three floor apartment building on south across from the graveyard, next to the workman’s comp building is $825 a month including heat, hotwater, electicity, they will have openings for july.
The building I’m currently in might have some openings by July…
You guys are *awesome*!
about outlook… why aren’t you just forwarding all incoming mail from one account to the other? then you’d never need to look at both accounts, just the primary.
I’m all about cloud/offsite storage for mail so I’m not as familiar with outlook as some people.
It should be possible… though I’d stick to the forwarding route to keep it easier.
i have chrome http://punditkitchen.files.wordpress.com/2…
One’s department email and one’s my actual staff email and everything is saved and stored to be kept on file for the department email. A lot of the stuff I get in my own staff account isn’t stuff that should be sent to the dept’s email. If that makes sense. Official department corresspondence and staff corresspondence needs to be separate.
It’s just a pain in the effing ass when someone sends ME a request for something off the department email and I have to keep switching back and forth 🙁 Neither of my accounts have been migrated to exchange server yet, but when they do (which is soon), I don’t want anyone with access to the department email also having access to my staff email (which is actually against university policy).
do a search for altering your outlook profile.
that will allow you to log into separate accounts simultaneously.
I searched in outlook for “two separate accounts”
and got a complete ‘how to’ guide….
next questions is… why didn’t you?
oh ya… now

Well you don’t have to be all persnickety about it!
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Rny4xQN6I7k/R6Hr…
I hate reading how-to guides for computer crap. They anger and sadden me and I don’t need more anger and saddness these days. Easier to ask someone who knows what they’re doing… and since my [generally non persnickety] IT guy is at a PD session right now, I couldn’t exactly ask him, now could I?
love that word kitty http://www.bandofcats.com/wp-content/uploa…
too bad there aren’t any openings here kitty, but it’s a no pet building too. but if you have indoor kitties (me has 2 of em), and their scratch pan is cleaned every couple days, well…….
PENIS
What’s funnier is Seb bouncing off of one of them.
OP, The problem is people think they own the sidewalk. Walking down SGR is like a giant slalom.
The joggers are like the Running of the Bulls.
And the cyclists. Remedy…Clothesline!
yes smurf, that is exactly what it is there. good eye. we always thought something was funny about that broad. but it was photoshopped, so we will never really know the truth. wait til you see queenie at 11 p.m. tonight.
i noticed that right away…sorry smurf. i was being funny about the feet. ask anyone, i am incapable of subterfuge
…bear in mind that i always assume there is a one-eyed trouser snake in the avatar
suckulicious has a knack for putting up trouser snakes, eh? I’m thankful I’ve never seen the giant dong one that was circulating around here last year.
It would make a dang good Halloween costume, that’s for sure.
