They raise it because they can.
when NS introduced the price setting policy last summer (or was it the one before?), it was widely advertised that prices will take longer to come down, than to go up. every single opponent of the reform who was interviewed on tv was throwing this fact around. yet people still wanted price regulations, and when the govt did implement it, they still said that prices will not be going down as easily as they went up.have you guys not been following that debate?heck, i know this and i dont even drive.
go to CNN business right now @ 2:15 pm on Friday and tell me what oil is @ $111.70 barrel. WHEN will consumers see gasoline reflect this price….gas should be the same per litre the last time it was at this level…..betcha it won’t…and what happens if oil goes back to $117.00 $120.00 betcha it’ll go back up pretty fucking quick

Everyone knew that on average we would pay more for gasoline with gas regulation pricing. You were all told that from the get go, and everyone still went for it. So suck on it.
suck on what the gas siphoning hose????
thank you cranky.ontario does not have price setting, and their prices change three times a day (from what i know, its cheaper there now).
http://www.ontariogasprices.com/Kingston/index.aspxin Kingston it is $1.2582…one month ago it was $1.35….fuck regulation
Listen fucktards I hate high gas prices as much as the next person but do some research. Gas prices are not based on Crude Oil but rather on New York Harbour Spot prices, which have actual gone up the past week check bloomberg.com for info. as for ON, look on gas buddies for Toronto they have lowered prices from 135.7 1 month ago to 127.4 today thats a whole 7.7 cents. In Halifax a regulated Market prices dropped from 142.2 to 131.6 that a drop of 8.6 cents a 1 cent bigger drop than Toronto. The problem with our gas prices are Taxes we pay a provincial 15.5 cents and HST while Ontario pays 14.7 and GST only thats a tax savins of 10.5 cents per litre. Excluding taxes Montreal is the only major city to be lower than Halifax. It’s not regulation, its taxes!!
It’s just a matter of time before Canadians begin to react to the world economy the way other countries do. They riot, protest, etc… just wait… shouldn’t be long now. Even Canadians will stand for only so much abuse. Don’t leave it up to anybody in Nova Scotia though… they charge extra taxes for road infrastructure and, I swear, they are the worst roads in the country.
I’d sure like to know why New York Harbour Spot prices are going up with their costs (public knowledge) are going down. Wouldn’t you, Informant?
