Dear everyone who realized that speeding tickets are a lame cash grab: HRP on Chain Lake Drive, in front of ARROW, Aliant, that paint store, etc. Also, wouldn’t it be great if we could get speed check alerts via text… —No, I Cannot Obey the Law, Don’t Even Ask

  1. Shouldn’t be using your cell phone while driving, or you’ll just end up getting a different ticket.

  2. I love the assholes like the OP here. “Waaaah! I broke the law and got caught, now I have to pay the consequences for my actions! Waaah! Waah! Waaaaah!”. Cry me a river you big fucking baby. Either slow down or accept the fact that you got caught and will have to pay for it. Otherwise, just shut it.

  3. i agree NW, id like to be at the trial this douche bag could be in for killing a pedestrian while speeding and operating a cellphone/PDA. or if they kill a family or something like that, because you know douchebags like him/her dont die so i cant spit on their casket. if there wasnt assholes breaking the law, there would be no need for the big bad police officers the OB is whining about. just thank god almighty i didnt become a police officer, id be waiting outside the OB’s house every morning 😀

  4. Yawn.

If you want to speed go ahead. Just shut up and cheerfully pay the fine when you get caught. It’s your choice you know.

I love seeing speeders getting pulled over. It’s always so nice to see people so happy to donate so generously to the government!

  5. I don’t see why keeping morons like you from creaming other people is a lame cash grab. They can ding you to shit and keep my taxes lower. :]

  6. wanna make sure you don’t get a ticket, THEN DON’T FUCKING SPEED, THE LAW IS THERE FOR EVERYONE, NOT JUST MORONS LIKE YOU TO FLAUNT.

  7. can’t you get those fancy radar detectors?
I remember picking one up for a friend in the states…
or do they not work when the car is off?
or do they keep the car running when catching people?

  8. no,car doesn’t have to be running or moving. most of those units catch the reflactive beams of the rays coming from the radar. they still sell them, but might be illegal here in this area. check place that sell them.

  9. Man, these bitches are the worse. Mostly, because these asshat speeders have no leg to stand on.

  10. all of these replies shitting on the OP, i challenge any one of you to say they have never driven above the speed limit. should you reply by saying you havent…i will promptly call you a liar, and i will be correct (pedalbikers please do not respond). everyone has or does speed from time to time. it doesnt make you an evil person. get a life people. its about using caution and care. obviously i dont believe in speeding along SGR at 90, but 115-120 in a 110 on the highway…fine.

id much rather be in a line of people going 120 on the 102 then come up on that one dumb asshole doing 80. stop being such self-righteous, holier than thou individuals.

  11. John…exactly.
This topic has been covered before…and it’s been pointed out that the speed ‘traps” are always put in zones where the limit drops suddenly from 100 to 50 (bi-hi/bayers), or where the limit was set back in 1964 (St margeret’s bay road)…Or where 50,000 people decided to move to the “country”, and have now decided they don’t like the sound of cars going by their house…

…and each time, the same crusty ole regulars on here come up with the same tired response “don’t do the crime, if you can’t pay the fine…cluck cluck cluck” or similar nonsense.

    *yawn*

The limits in NS need to be raised to reflect the advance in technology of the modern automobile…and brought in line with the rest of North America.

Keep up with the traffic flow, or sell up and move to Yellowknife…

  12. I used to like the chicks that thought they were hot exposing some skin in hopes they wouldn’t get a ticket. Loved the look when I gave them one. Now someone who talked pleasantly and were sorry, and depending on the situation would in some cases just get a warning.

  13. If we are to

    1) Believe you were a cop, Bro Tim

    then

    2) You deciding on whether or not to issue a summons (ticket) based on your ‘feelings’ about the suspect is a prime example of the flaw in our policing system. You “don’t like my face/haircut/clothing/”attitude”/skin colour” and I get a ticket for 57 in a 50.

If I hold my hat in my hand, “yassir/nossir, three bags full sir…” – you ‘generously’ let me off with a stern warning to not “breakkkk the law!!”

Fuck that shit. You are an example of the pervasive corruption in law enforcement, albeit at the incipient level, that stinks up our society.

It’s one law for EVERYBODY in Canada there Dudley Doo-right, cops are not judges, nor do most of them have the temperment to be one… It’s a demonstrable fact that law enforcement, as a a profession, attracts a certain “type” of person…usually one not particularly suited to making fair and impartial decisions, as we’re seeing more and more in the news. Citizens are speaking up and out about their poor experiences with our “police”, and phone-cameras, car-cameras and bystander filming are providing the proof.

Personally, I prefer the UK system, where speed limits are fair and modern for the roads and vehicles, and highly visible speed cameras ticket the worst offenders – without having to encounter someone like Po’ Tim, dispensing “justice” as he saw fit, depending on his “mood” that day!

  14. I had a yellowknife once… I may still to this day but every time I go to use it, it’s hiding somewhere….

  15. “The limits in NS need to be raised to reflect the advance in technology of the modern automobile”-As well as the road construction.
There are parts of the 104 that are 2 lanes (shared) only a yellow line between directions, and then it will changes to double lane divided roadway and the speed stays the same? WTF

  16. Then BMF don’t bitch next time you get a ticket. As for being human, sorry you don’t like it. It happens everywhere. Who gets better service, some who is polite or an asshole? Welcome to the real world.

  17. The law should be applied equally Tim. They should probably teach that to the piglets.
But really BMF can you blame a pig for being a pig?

  18. Mr. Frosty
You are certainly correct in your claim that Law enforcement draws a certain type of person. That person is a control freak with mental issues, & it is what I believe all of them come to the job because of.
I’ve had various runins with brainless automans…aka police officers, my favorite run in is typical of their complete inability to actually think !
I once came home from work to my home where the insides were being systematically destroyed by my now exwife who was very drunk. I had worked late (with 60 other people) & she got it in her head I was actually out cheating…so she had started smashing up the place & when i walked in she started throwing the fridge contents, answering machine etc at me.
    I called the cops.
They came & she said I hit her.
I had no marks on my hands. She had no marks on her… the cop even commented about just how drunk she was & how smashed up the living room was.
Yet I was arrested & locked up for the night. yet I wasn’t charged with a crime.
After I left another unit with a female officer arrived to question her & she decided that I had slipped away to cheat on her some more. She started accussing the officers of ‘helping me’ & she hauled off & hit one. Which got her arrested & locked up & charged……but did any of those officers have enough braincells firing to decide I wasn’t at fault & to let me go ?
Oh no, I was there from 8ish at night to almost 7am, then let go. When I was released I asked why I had been arrested & they said I was drunk & disorderly (I hadn’t had a drink in days ) & I hadn’t been breath tested, & I was the one who called & complained. They told me my wife was also arrested & had already been charged, but I wouldn’t be charged… I left & went directly to my doctors office & complained about my treatment & asked for blood work to be done, so I could prove I hadn’t drank or done drugs.
Then I went after them with a lawyer, which got me nowhere, these braindead bozo’s can take anybody, anytime, for absolutly NO REASON & hold you. They then have a 24hours to ‘decide’ if your going to be charged, (or they could then)
Like the old saying goes …a leopard can’t change its spots & pig is a pig, because it’s just its nature !

  19. wow more, no wonder you hate that ex of yours…funny crazy is one thing but scary crazy is real bad

  20. More…indeed.

The police will always take the word of a female in any altercation…that’s an age-old sexist bias they have.
Lately though, it has been coming to light just how often women abuse this by using the “he hit me”…or even more common…”I’m scared of him” tactic in the heat of anger.

My opinion is that when someone lies about violence and makes a false statement, the “punishment” for that person should be THE SAME as it would be for the alleged crime.

In other words, the whore that falsely accused the Kent State Lacrosse Players of aggravated rape shopuld now be serving 10 years without parole.

There are thousands of examples of scorned females using false accusations of violence as a ‘weapon’, and when their victims are finally cleared, sometimes after years and years, thousands of dollars and irreparable damge to their character rep…the female simply goes “oh well…”

    Bullshit.

If a scorned woman uses for instance a false report of child abuse…about the worse thing you can claim, and it’s proven to be false AND malicious (verrrry hard, but possible)…she should serve a comparable sentence as the man would have.

and yes, that includes life with no parole for a repeat offender.

  21. “Then BMF don’t bitch next time you get a ticket””

I’ve never “bitched” about a ticket in my life.

I have, however, fought (and won) against a couple…

Guess what, Bro Tim? We don’t HAVE to kiss ass in this life mate…it’s hard to “stick up” for yourself the first time or two…whether it’s against the police, the bank or the returns desk at fucking Canadian Tire…there’s another saying”:the squeaky wheel gets the grease…”

But after the first few times of looking out for oneself in the face of unfairness…it actually gets quite addictive…

    😉

  22. BMF- much love. u said what i can never put into words. its deeper than grief over a penalty for a driving infraction- it’s whats behind it that’s upsetting. I deserved a 400$ ticket.. i got off with 280$…. yet a good friend of mine (who sincerely cannot affort it) got stuck with a 400$ ticket. why? because someone judged her differently. people are not the same but if im to take the law seriously, it can’t be flexible. im not happy my ticket was reduced because it points out a much larger flaw in the system. obviously id rather not pay 400 but thats because id rather not pay anything at all for what i consider an outdated set of rules aimed not at public safety but at filling a ridiculous quota/city profit/etc.
