So brilliant me decides, after aknowledging that a woman should call the cops on a stalker (facebook thread), to further go on about how sometimes men are turned into creeps by woman for attention, and that both men and woman have to be protected. Next thing I know it’s a full out mobbing and I’m suddenly “someone who would have sympathy for those boys who raped that girl”. I don’t. If just because I think that sometimes men can be creepified victims makes you think that I might be either with you or against you you’re wrong. The world isn’t that cut and dry, and although woman have it harder in a lot of respects men still have rights too. —Had to unfortunately delete someone on the facebook thread because of one of her friends.

I don’t understand your tone of regret. You did everything right here. It takes a deft hand and rare intellect to understand that there is a middle ground in the so-called war of the sexes and that it does not need to be a war at all.You may be in a minority but it is an honourable minority.
Looking for cogent and rational arguments on facecrack is a bit of a fools errand. It’s the electronic equivalent of Tourettes. A bit like playing chess with a pigeon. Your opponent will knock over the pieces, crap on the board and still squawk that they won.
You’ve taken the high ground in this skirmish and lost nothing of value in doing so. Regret nothing.
You may have lost the Battle, but you shan’t lose the war

yes. There are attention whores out there. And there are lots of appropriate places to discuss that. This thread wasn’t one of those places.
It’s like going to the funeral of someone who died of cancer and asking their grieving loved ones if they were a smoker and, if so, they sort of deserved it.
eats crayons
Why then can we come on here and trash smokers? Sounds like another double standard to me, although I do see a large part of what you’re saying (about going into that specific facebook thread I mean with that random subject).
You can come here and trash smokers.
Just don’t do it at their funerals.
That’s the difficulty with arguments from analogy; does the analogy fit. I don’t think it does.
So this is a funeral?
That’s the difficulty with arguments from analogy. The analogy doesn’t always fit.
I’m still waiting how this blog site is like a funeral?
If your analogy was valid to this blog site, why wouldn’t it apply to men in circumstances where they may have viewed woman as objects, and are feeling guilty about that. Would a poster be doing something similar to walking into a funeral of a deceased cancer patient and calling out people there for having smoked of the blogger was talking about a man checking her out? Again, a double standard. This would have been only on multiple post it’s just that the 3;25am somehow got posted while I was editing it.
Waddaya want, a reach around for having common sense? Now, back to grade 8.
