I wish I had have known this before I spent $952 on three VIP tickets… WTF…!!!
Joel Plastic is without a doubt the most over-rated act to ever hit the mainstream of the Maritime Music Scene.
Maybe some of you have got your heads up your arses, and maybe you are impressed by songs lyrics like:
“Halfway to Ashtray Rock… Out in the wilderness.. I had to take a piss…” or
“Fashionable Fashionable… Ditch him… Switch him… Do the SWITCHEROO…” Give me a fucking break…
Pathetic… Truly pathetic…
My only hope is that they put this toad on first in the afternoon, so I can arrive late and don’t have to listen to it… I would hate to have this garbage ruin what should otherwise be the best concert to come to Halifax in a long long time…

Enjoy the show buddy. I hate Joel too. My girlfriend used to drag me to his boring shows and we’d get to stand around in a crowd by the stage for 3 hours while he dicked around backstage 2 hours late for his show. Putz.
Well Floyd, maybe you should have waited until the opening acts were announced before buying your tickets! Since you feel this passionately about Plaskett you can always sell your tickets to someone who WILL appeciate the show.
I’m not a huge Wintersleep fan but I’m not going to let that ruin the show for me. Music is a personal taste and it would be impossible to please everyone.
I am curious as to why you feel the need to fling insults at others just because their musical taste disagrees with yours?

Since you have some of the best tickets, you can time your entrance to coincide with the main act and not bother with Mr. Plastic man.

I’m just disappointed because you’d think Paul could bring in an amazing opener, someone we can’t see every second weekend and who would be more his style, which I think would please his fans. Instead we end up paying $100 + to see a bunch of bands we can see anyway for $12.
If big bands who come to Halifax want to support and hear local musicians, they can go to their shows while they’re here.

I hate the fact that some ig’nant pissflaps can’t see that this is also an honor from Sir P to nominate these bands as openers…
And PAS, who would you suggest? If you can be so critical of him, at least offer a solution instead of just whining.
I have nothing against either band – I honestly have never heard either play. But, I was looking forward to having at least a semi-big name band open. For example, Paul has publically stated his favourite Canadian band is the Barenaked Ladies. THAT would have been excellent – they are quite entertaining, a Canadian icon, and at least someone we can’t see locally. While I do agree, it is an honour for JPE & WS to have been selected to play, it would have been equally as honourable for Paul to honour local talent by just going to see them play locally. If we want to see them, like an above post mentioned, we can pay $12. For the price of the tickets, I’m quite disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be there, as it’s still a great concert, but I’m just bummed the bar wasn’t raised even slightly.
I agree, this douchebag shouldn’t be within 10 feet of paul mccartney! He can’t write songs and has no musical talent at all! I don’t care if it’s an honor for him, just more of a reason for his head to grow and think that he is actually an musican
