So I believe in Occupy and what is is on paper. But what the hell are these protesters doing in parade square? What are they hoping to accomplish, cause to me they seem like a bunch of uneducated hippies with no way of making change. When there are so many solutions that these protesters are refusing to try and now they are getting paid to be a bunch of bums loitering city property, littering up the place, pretty much reverting back to animals. Why don’t they get jobs and make the changes they want to see. Don’t buy into corporations, instead always shop local. It’s more of an effort but it make a long term difference, unlike freezing your ass off in a tent all winter annoying the piss out of people. Anyone hear of a protest that states they are protesting largely federal and provincial issues while occupying the space outside a municipal city hall? Saw them making a cleaning effort on the news, likely the place will be cleaner when they leave then when they showed up, not like the city does a top notch job of keeping it tidy. I’m all for the buy local however if something is cheaper from away then from down the road then I go with the cheaper price, it’s not ideal buy living pay cheque to pay cheque there isn’t much choice.

Whoever asks what a protest will accomplish is missing the point. The purpose of a protest is to make your voice heard. That’s it. Maybe it will accomplish nothing. Doing fuck all is guaranteed to accomplish nothing. At least it is making people aware of the issues that they are protesting. That’s the goal.
